Well, the vet told Mom she needed to quit smoking cuz that is probably making ME cough. Actually, Mom smokes outside AND we have an air purifier in the house so we don't think it's her fault! But, she did tell Mom I apparently have chronic tracheo-bronchitis. But, my trachea does not collapse!!
Soo, Mom thinks when the rain finally gets all the dust packed down and the grass is growing and ALL the pollen is mostly gone I will be better. Meanwhile, she got some more of the steroids and I get them every other day, which works fine.
Mom says it's supposed to rain for the next four days so she won't give me a pill and see if I still cough. If I don't, then they are right and it is from all the dust and pollen irritating my throat.
Meanwhile, Mom isn't letting the chickies go down into our lab pen anymore because, believe it or not, it was a WILD CAT that grabbed the chickens!!! Mom heard one of the Guineas screaming and she rushed out and that cat had it right in his mouth! Mom screamed and he dropped it and ran away. So, until they get big, they can't go down there. They are sad, Mom is sad, and especially the two old hens are sad, and we are sad cuz we can't eat any chicken poop from down there, but I guess they grow fast????
The bad news, Toto DID still eat about 1/2 of a chicken, BUT, the missing Guinea keet showed up TWO days later and he was fine and that means only three are gone and she found two bodies and one partial body. I have stopped trying to chase them cuz they won't run anymore. Silly Toto and Crystal still race around along the fence but the chicks don't seem to mind so Mom says they are at least getting some exercise (Toto and Cryssie, that is!)
Riley isn't allowed outside alone anymore so he can't dig under to let any of them out.
Well, I gotta go nap. I am having to share a bed with the kitties...maybe Mom will get a picture of us??
