Tomorrow morning I have to go back to the vets. I got to the end of my pills and, wouldn't you know it, my cough is back worse than before. Mom says that isn't right so she is taking me back to find out their next move.
Meanwhile, since I was very, very dusty, we all are since there has been NO rain at all in weeks and our pen is pretty dusty, I had to go to work with Mom for a bath today.
Talk about poor timing. As you may have heard from some of my family, I am obsessed with chasing those baby chicks. That is how I get so dusty, actually! That is also how I keep my trim shape, hehehe! Anyway, while I was stuck at work, Riley red toes dug into the chicken pen and killed two of them. While he was in there chasing them, two more of them escaped under the fence thru HIS hole and got in with the rest of the dogs.
Yup, they killed them, and Toto ATE THEM!!! If I had been there I would have actually had a chance to REALLY chase them. Hey, Mom, maybe I would have chased them AWAY from Toto????
Mom is really mad at Riley and at Toto. She spent all weekend fixing the fence to keep Riley in the right one and he still dug a NEW hole. Now she put cement all around the bottom of the fence!!!!
I am sure glad I am innocent, BOL!

OH CWAP!!! I'm speechless....but momma isn't:

Marilynn here - I suggest your momma take some chicken wire and line the bottom of the dog pen that the chickens are in. Connect the chicken wire to the anchor bar of the dog pens every four or so inches so if a dog does dig a hole it will not make contact with the chickens. Daddy had to do this with Arleenton's yard because she was digging out under the block fence and getting out. The chicken wire prevents this from occurring. I'm very sorry to hear about the chickens.

Coco Rose, we can't put chicken wire under the whole pen cuz it is 50 feet by 50 feet, or 2500 square feet if Mom's math still works. We do have wire buried along the fence but Riley is the bestest excavator Mom has EVER seen!!! She thinks she's got them all covered (literally), but is only letting him out when she is watching us now!
When they get adult sized she will let them go back down in the lab pen cuz they will be able to fend off the wild cat, if she hasn't caught it yet. We CAN'T get down there unless she lets us, BOL!
