House guests for ME!!!

Mom got a text this morning from my FAVORITE person, Mom's niece Susie! She asked Mom if she could come tomorrow and stay over for a few nights cuz she is on vacation.
I told Mom to text her RIGHT BACK and tell her she could come whenever she wants to, and I will be sleeping in the guest room with her!!! In fact, I gotta get Momsie to get in there right now and make sure the sheets are clean and the pillows are fresh.
Susie didn't say if she was bringing my son, Tanner. I guess it would be okay, but he sure better remember that I am his mother and, as such, I shall be obeyed and I shall have Susie's neck to sleep up against!!!!
Mom says if it EVER stops raining we can go out in the kayaks. I dunno if that is gonna happen cuz we have flood warnings in effect until 8pm on Wednesday night! Doesn't sound too promising.
BTW, just in case you were wondering...we live on a hill and have no brooks or rivers near us to flood us!!!!

My turn...DDP!!

Mom said I was a diary pick today. I am very happy to know that, it seems like I haven't been noticed too much lately...everything is Jethro this, Jethro that, ad nauseam!! And, if it isn't Jethro, it is Quincy. Blahh, I've had enough of puppies!!
Anyway, Mom has been allowing me to sleep in EVERY SINGLE morning! She says it's because the weather is now decent and she is leaving the dogs outside but I can't be outside with Toto so he won't lick my back.
Well, this plan might change soon. Today I really couldn't help myself, but I chewed a very tiny hole in the bottom of Mom's comforter and then pulled out all the stuffing I could. It felt so satisfying that I then chewed a tiny hole in the top of it and pulled out even more stuffing. That stuff is soo light and fluffy and blows all over the room!
When Mom came in to let me out she thought there must have been a snow storm in the bedroom. I must admit, it WAS a bit chilly in there, especially since the comforter is now so thin, BOL!! I reminded Mom that at least I didn't chew on her nightgown like last time!!!
Hopefully, she won't leave ME outside and bring Toto into the bedroom. That would NOT be nice as I definitely do need my beauty sleep in the mornings!

Canoeing with Mom and Julia...

I forgot to write this earlier, but this past Sunday I was lucky enough to be invited off on a canoeing trip. I really prefer the kayaks, but canoeing will do in a pinch, BOL!
We went off to my favorite pond. Mom and Julia took us, and Toto and Beanie accompanied me for the trip. I was hoping to see lots of nature but it was pretty gosh darn hot up there for early May, so all we saw were a bunch of turtles sunning themelves on the logs and rocks.
Actually, Julia was begging Mom for a turtle and Mom told her IF she could catch one she could bring it home for a while. Silly Mom, of COURSE Julia can and DID catch a turtle! It was a pretty small one, and Mom had to let her take it home since she promised.
We also caught some minnows and some baby hornpout (cat fish with barbs!).
Julia made a huge double pond thingie that she is going to keep them in. Unfortunately, the turtle ate some of the minnows on the ride home, BUT hey, that is nature, right??
Anyway, after canoeing we stopped for some ice cream. I had the lobster tracks, or something like that. It was okay, but Mom had HOT FUDGE and I would have liked that better!!!
If you notice in my new canoeing photos that I have my t-shirt on, it was okay...I wore it so my new skin wouldn't get sunburned.

Ahh, cured!!

Well, in spite of a tiny spot remaining, less than the size of a dime, my back is finally healed. Because I am soo good, Mom has let me go without the t-shirt for a while now. At first I did lick a bit but no longer.
Mom says she is afraid there will be a pretty big area where the hair won't grow back since the full thickness of my skin was gone, but I really don't care... I am not a show dog anymore!
Today Mom took me along to work because it is VERY hot here and I still had way too much hair to keep myself cool. She cut it all off to the length around my sore which looks MUCH better and just gave me the ankle poofs. I LIKE those ankle poofs.
Guess what...my daughter Georgie and my half sister Bubbles were also at work getting groomed today, along with their new sister, Sandy. All four of us got the exact same Summer haircut and we all looked the same, BOL!
Mom let Georgie and Bubbles go on a break with me and we had some sniffing time getting re-acquainted. I was reminded how clumsy my darling daughter is and am glad she no longer lives here with me!!! She really is a klutz, don't know how that could come out of me, BOL!
Now that I am all groomed I am hoping Mom will allow me to go camping with her and Julia this weekend. It sounds like fun, and I expect a kayaking trip will also be included. I could be up for that, even if I DO have to wear some sunscreen on my new skin!

My back is ALMOST better!

Well, in spite of Mom keeping me from licking my back by keeping a t-shirt on it, FINALLY, the scab fell off yesterday. I was hoping when that happened I would get to ditch the t-shirts, but Mom said not yet.
Although it is MUCH better, it still has a spot about the size of a quarter that isn't healed yet. Mom says until that is healed I cannot lick it so looks like a couple more weeks with the t-shirts.
Mom KNOWS that Toto definitely did this to me now cuz she caught him licking Zena the other day. He was only out there with her for less than ten minutes, but when Mom went to the door, there he was, holding her down and licking!
So, now if me or Zena or Annie are outside without Mom, Toto has to be inside. For some reason, Cryssie won't let him pin her down and lick on her. Hew doesn't lick me when we are inside, but he has tried to get Zena before when she was sleeping under Mom's desk.
Mom has NO IDEA why he does this...I think he must be neurotic or something, BOL. Oh well, by the time I get healed he will leave me alone until I get groomed again.

Almost better!!

Well, it has been a very, very long week. Finally, Mom says my back is better BUT, it still has a very long way to go before it is totally healed.
As Mom and the vet suspected, ALL that bruised skin died and turned black. Underneath it, the whole area was a huge, raw sore. Mom and the girls kept putting ointment on me to keep it soft so it wouldn't pull off too soon, and I think it might be working.
Mom did talk to the vet today and she said as long as they could keep that black dead skin on there it was good. The object is to get it to heal from underneath BEFORE the dead skin falls off.
Well, Mom found me a some nice t-shirts so I can't scratch at it and the other dogs can't lick it. Today is the first day Mom actually let me stay outside for more than just the time it takes to do my business.
Alas, when she came to get me, she found that mean Toto had me cornered again and he was just getting ready to start licking me again...he is STRANGE!!!!
Fortunately, he leaves me along at night OR he would be sleeping in his crate every night because I do not do crates, BOL!

I got a boo boo...

Friday morning Mom took me to work and gave me a beautiful Spring groom. Because it was such a nice day, Julie took me home and put me outside with the other dogs.
When Mom came home after work and went to let us inside, I was SCREAMING in pain and Annie jumped on me to try to bite me! Mom grabbed me, brought me inside and took a look. My whole back was wet, and she could see a huge purple bruise under my hair. The rest of it was beet red.
She rinsed off the dirt (I was VERY DIRTY), and dried me off and gave me some pain meds. There were no bites, a few scrapes but no punctures so she couldn't figure out what happened. And, except for me worrying about those other guys bumping me, I wasn't afraid of any of them.
I ate my supper so Mom put me in her bed. Saturday morning, it still looked AWFUL, so she shaved off all the hair and took me to the vets. The vet was shocked, too, and is afraid I am maybe going to even need a skin graft cuz that black skin is all dead already.
Frankly, it feels MUCH better and Mom is giving me lots of nice medicine and leaving me in her bedroom. She also let me wear a nice t-shirt to protect my back.
Mom says she now thinks Toto chewed on my back too much. He is very strange and likes to lick us and chew us after we get groomed so she thinks because no one saw him and stopped him, he just got carried away.
I am not telling!! I am enjoying the babying and will be milking this for all it's worth!!

A visitor for ME!!!

This morning it was cold and there were actually SNOW FLAKES falling out of the sky. I did what any sensible toy poodle would do and I crawled back under the comforter in Mom's water bed.
I had a quiet and warm day and was dreaming about kayaking with Mom's niece, Susie, when I swear, I heard her calling me. I jumped up and raced to the bedroom door, just to convince myself I was dreaming still.
Nope, there was Susie!!! She gave me a huge hug, then she took me over to work and gave me lots of lovin' for the whole time it took Mom to groom my little son, Tanner.
I must admit, I am glad she was grooming Tanner and not me, BOL! I didn't need that hassle, especially when Susie was holding me!!!
It was a great visit, too bad she couldn't have stayed longer!! I miss my Susie!

I'm a lady????

It's been freezing, freezing cold around here lately. In fact, it was fifteen degrees BELOW zero the other morning. Mom was worried about us cuz our dog room is pretty cold so she decided to leave us out in the house.
Well, the first day she left me in the bedroom with the Hairless wonders, Barney and Harvey. As she walked out, all three of us were snuggled under the covers, snoozing away.
Fast forward to five pm... Mom comes home from work. Without even stepping into the bedroom, she sees polyester fiberfill covering the entire floor. We are still snuggled in the bed under the fleece blankies.
She comes in and finds a tiny, little hole in her comforter. There are some plain old threads hanging out the hole, about TEN FEET of plain thread. Suddenly, Momsie realized those threads are what that polyester fiberfill was attached to. Hmmmmm. Might be a bit chilly tonight, Momsie dearest???
Of course, I told her the boys did it. I also told her the boys chewed the front of her nightie completely away, too. I might have gotten away with it IF that piece hadn't gotten stuck in my teeth like that. Ooops!
The next morning she did put the boys in their crate but she decided to leave me sleeping in the living room. Five o'clock, she comes home and... this time there is GREEN fiberfill all over the floor. Mom looks around and discovered a whole in the brand new dog bed she got for us. Upon further inspection, she discovers that Beanie's little dog bed, under the desk, is also empty. Double Oooops... I was the ONLY dog left in the living room, so I had to make up a huge story about my tooth was itchy and I needed to chew a bit to make it feel better.
I don't think she bought it??????

My new jacket, er, COAT!

Today I went over to work with Julia. She stayed over night TWO nights! She came on Wednesday cuz it was supposed to snow so she slept over to help Mom with the kennel and the snow. She had so much fun that she decided to stay over AGAIN last night. I got to sleep with her both nights!!!
Anyway, Julia gave me a bath while Mom was grooming some other dogs, then Mom clipped my hair and nails and stuff. Next, Julia painted my nails maroon to match my new jacket and gave me a bow for my hair.
My new jacket, well, it is REALLY a COAT!!!!, is very, very nice. Some nice person who has Drama, one of the Kansas girls, got it for Drama but it was too small for her. Luckily, it fits ME so she gave it to ME!!! (It fits Cryssie, too, but it is way too fancy for her... she needs denim or a hoody or something cuz she is a tomboy!)
Anyway, Mom says it is an expensive designer coat. I don't know about that, but I do know it is VERY, VERY nice! It is lined with soft, cushy fleece, and has nice suede on the outside. It also has nice metal catches, attached with leather, and some shorter fleece on the outside, too.
Soo, after Julia got me all decked out, she took some photos of me modeling it. Mom put them on my page for me.
After Julia's Mom got done work Julia convinced her to let me come for the afternoon and visit. I had a great time there, Julia's friend Emma was there, too, so we played quite a bit.
When Julia's Mom brought me home I had missed my supper and ALL the other dogs had already eaten. I was pretty upset cuz Mom didn't seem to realize I was needing my supper. Finally, after about the 100th time I jumped on her and tapped her with my front foot she remembered and went and got me my dinner. I was so happy I gobbled it all up and didn't even let Toto or Beanie have even a sniff. They were MAD cuz I got to eat in the dining room instead of in my crate, hehehe!
It was because I am a lady and they are just dogs!!! (Ooops...Mom says ladies don't "gobble" up their dinner!!!)
