Arrival Story:
Kirby joined our family when he was 8 months old. His breeder said he was the runt of the litter and she didn't want to let him go with his litter mates because he was so small. She got attached to him, but she eventually did let him go to a family and we've been thrilled to have him! He's still on the small size for a papillon; he only weighed 4lbs. 15oz at his last vet visit!

Bio:
Kirby likes to go go PAWS (Partners for Animal Welfare Society )competitions in Greenfield every September and has brought home 2 medals. The first year he came in 3rd in the costume contest dressed as a pumpkin and last year he finished 2nd in the wet T-shirt race, beating all the bigger dogs with longer legs! He's quite a sprinter!

Kirby went to "Paws In The Park" on Saturday to compete with other dogs in contests and just mingle with lots of pets. He entered 5 contests and won medals in 3! (See his picture with his awards on his pet page). He won the "wet T-shirt" race, came in second in "musical squares" and second in "Leave it". He was the only small dog there along with one medium size breed. The rest were all big dogs he had to beat out! He said the scariest contest was "musical squares" because he was afraid a big dog might sit on him trying to get on the square before he could! He wants to learn to catch frisbees for next year's contests, but we'll have to find some small enough for his mouth! He had lots of fun anyway!
