 Quick Bio:
Likes: Being fawned over, tummy & rear-end rubs, trying to play with Babe (sister dog), his spotted dog toy that looks like him, his basket of toys, looking out the window (it's right at his level), snoozing on the couch, snoozing on the armchair, wrestling.

Pet-Peeves: Grates on the sidewalk, sewer openings on the street, storms, the elevator, hearing other dogs in the apartment building and not knowing where they are, having his routine upset, when his bed doesn't get arranged properly (he'll storm off)

Favorite Toy: The trout and the alligator (Fat Cat toys, love them!), kongs, nylabones, squeaky rubber devil toy that no longer squeaks, anything that withstands his chewing and of course, the spotted dog toy (probably the 17th one we've been through).

Favorite Food: Natural Choice Ultra, Peanut Butter, Iams Dog Biscuits, Beggin' Strips (he goes crazy for them), carrots with dip, proscuitto, brie (he's very cultured)

Favorite Walk: Any place where people will stop to fawn over him

Best Tricks: Being cute. The bed trick - he makes his bed and gets really frustrated when he can't arrange the stuffing JUST RIGHT. He'll storm off and I have to arrange it for him before he'll return. Sit. Lie Down. Wrestling. Crazy goofy looks.

Arrival Story: I was looking for an adult dog, probably a boy, that was part bull-something. I loved the bully breeds - bull terriers, bull mastiffs, bulldogs (French, American, English), etc. I also wanted a dog that had a spot over its eye. And one that didn't have a weird name. I surfed petfinder.com for months and finally stumbled on Albert. He looked a little scared in his picture, but he was everything I wanted - and very close, in Illinois. His profile said he was 30 lb s, which I thought was a perfect size. Turned out that he weighed in at around 50. Oops. I was prepared to be objective and to make sure that he was a good fit for me (at the time he would be living with two other dogs, and I didn't want an agressive dog). But as soon as he walked into the room, I was in love. He snoozed on the five hours home and my family quickly fell in love.

Bio: Albert is ALWAYS stopped on the street - "what kind of dog is that?!" "Spuds!" "Petey!" (from "Our Gang") "What a weird little dog!" "Man, your dog is huge!" - I'm trying to learn how to knit so I can knit him a sweater that says "Mutt" - because "well, we think he's part bull terrier, part basset hound - no, not pit bull terrier - no, he won't eat you, but he might gnaw" is a little long. I love having an unusual looking dog - he's quite popular and very special. He also does this hilarious grunting thing that is often immitated, never duplicated. We have long grunt conversations.
