Furry things that run

Everyday my mom comes home for lunch to see me, and every day it's the same old thing, mom eats and I play and look out on the back porch until mom finishes eating and lets me out.
Yesterday was different, when I was doing my laps to greet mom when she came home I looked outside and saw something brown and furry on the back porch, so I started crying to go out...mom must not've seen what was out there and so she let me out a few minutes later. So I get out there and sniff around and found the furry thing and chased it all over! Then it ran under a flower pot where I couldn't get it easily...but that didn't stop me, I started digging and sticking my head under just to make sure it was still there and then mom came out and saw me trying to get under the flowerpot and lifted it up- and it ESCAPED! I tried to catch it again, but it ran under the fence and was gone!
Darn mom, I don't think she was very helpful at all, cause she just kept laughing and laughing at me while I tried to figure how to get through the hole the furry thing went through. I'll catch it next time though!

Man, I must be doing something REALLY good lately, 'cause moms taken me to the park the last three days! It's great! and on Sunday we took the really really long trail and I got to play in water three times! I was having so much fun that I decided mom might like to get in the water too, so when we were crossing the first stream I decided to give my lead a little tug and she lost her balance and stepped in the stream... I don't think moms likes getting in the stream as much as I do, 'cause I heard her say some not nice words about her shoe being squishy. I felt kinda bad, so when we were leaving I stayed right next to her to keep her company. She liked that and told me I was a good heeler and gave me treats, so of course I stayed near her for more!
Mom said something about it raining and her being a little sore from all of the hiking, so I don't think we'll get to go to the park tonight, darn! Oh well, she also said something about maybe going to the dog park Friday if it doesn't rain. I thought ALL parks were for dogs, so this one must be really special and extra fun!

Moms been taking me to the park more now that the weathers warmer and I have lots of fun. Yesterday we went and I found a snake! It was hiding in the leaves and underbrush and I sniffed and sniffed at it. Snakes are weird, they move funny and it made me jump. Mom didn't know what it was at first, and when she saw it was a snake she made me leave it alone so we could keep hiking up the trail. Darn! I really wanted to play with it, but there were so many other smells that I forgot all about the snake.
When we got to the end of the trail there was another puppy at the picnic area an mom let me off lead so we could play. That other puppy was pretty slow and I decided to show off by going into puppy 500 super-over drive!
On the way home we had to go by moms work, and I got to go in since it was after hours. I got to smell where all of the smells she brings home everyday come from. It was pretty interesting, and she and I played chase mom, and I ran ahead, and turned around and she was gone! Turns out she decided to play hide and go seek and didn't tell me! She laughed when I finally found her, but sheesh I was worried there for a minute!
