Livin' Like a Spartan!

Hey, its Petey! I just wanted to share with you all a poem my mom just wrote:


The puppy was a mill dog, she escaped from it one day
And ran into the streets where she soon became a stray
She gets her food from trash cans and eats it off the ground
Anyone who passes ignores that she's around

Will anybody help this dog? Does anybody care?
Will anybody help her escape this bad nightmare?
Will anybody see her? Or hear her doggish cries?
Will anybody care that in two days her young heart dies?

Nobody will help this dog, nobody seems to care
Nobody will help her escape this bad nightmare
Nobody sees her, or hears her doggish cries
Nobody cares that in two days her young heart dies

So in two days time the young dog falls asleep
And she crosses Rainbow Bridge, where her soul is God's to keep
And she is in a better place, with love to go around
No longer will she eat trash from upon the ground

But this dog never knew love and never knew care
Never had a home with a family of which to share
All she knew was that the world is full of hate
And soon many other strays will also share this fate

So we need to help them, so we need to care
So we need to help them escape this bad nightmare
So we need to see them, and hear their doggish cries
So we need to care that soon their dog hearts will die

So please everybody, spread the word around!
No dog should ever have to eat upon the ground!
Every dog should experience love and gentle care!
Help spread the word to help strays everywhere!

Play!

Today Shawty and I played in the pool. It was rather hot out so we laid down in it and just cooled off. Then, our people laughed at Shawty because he was trying to catch a tiny white butterfly and was chasing it and snapping at it. I don't know what they thought was so cute. I'm cute too, right? Well then I ran to the horse rope that was hooked way up high on a white pole and I tried to pull it down! Then Shawty came over and grabbed the end of it and pulled and I was still hanging on so I went up and down! I got mad at Shawty and growled at him, but he really didn't care. Mom went and grabbed her digi camera to tape it, which she did. She thinks its hilarious! Yea, not so much mom. Well then when my gramma let one of the horses out to eat grass, Shawty jumped up behind it and tried to catch its tail! He's such a stupie-do... We also got to chase the miniature donkeys when they came out to eat some grass and mom got mad at us. Then we played some more in the pool, which is always fun, but Shawty kept carrying the toys out. So thats pretty much all that happened today! I'll tell you about tomorrow! Bye!

Rats!

A while ago today us seven dogs went up to the barn. Do you wanna know why? Cuz' we were digging for rats! Mom moved a few cement blocks that were near the side of the barn and we dug under them. Duke dug a whole bunch up, and Chelsea just watched. Such a girl! Then, when mom moved a certain block, a little rat came flying out! It ran across her feet and she was yelling at Duke, Misty, or Shawty to get it! It scurried into a hole in the barn before they got it cuz' they weren't even paying attention! Those oblivious dorks! We also hung out by the miniature donkeys, Isabelle and her baby, Max! Shawty got in trouble for chasing them, which normally Misty does. Mom also played with donkeys! She even picked up the baby a few days ago! He's so very tiny! Mom thinks I'm small too. She says that I'm small on the outside, but big in the inside! I love my mom. She makes me so happy! She also had to force Muffy away from our 'rat digging excavation site'. She was all dirty and wheezing, so mom put her in our kiddie pool and scrubbed her up. Then she grabbed a dog toy for Shawty and me and threw it in the pool! We both jumped in and got it all dirty, so she had to change the pool water. But thats what we did today! I'll type more next time! Bye!
