A few weeks ago when I was on one of the trails near our house, I saw these VERY BIG things in a field beside the trail. Daddy told me they were HORSES. They were WAY bigger than me, and they amazed me! I just couldn't stop looking at them! They were so big and beautiful!
When we were on our hike at a different set of trails yesterday, I saw some MORE of these really big animals called HORSES. I stopped and lay down and just watched them for awhile. I think I would someday like to have a horse friend.
I sure do LOVE watching horses!

Grandma Linda and Grandma Cheryl came to play with me today while Mommy was at a Baby Shower and Daddy was away on a hiking trip with Uncle Jon.
It was VERY exciting to have BOTH of my Grandmas with me at the same time!
We played ball A LOT, and we went for a nice walk together. I got to listen to some nice Latina music because there was a festival in the park near our condo.
We played ball some more, and then I went ice skating across the kitchen floor by putting my paw on my Nylabone and sliding with it on my foot. Very fun!
The Grandmas went upstairs into the computer room, and I went, too. They were looking at Dogster and seeing all my Pup Pals. While they were looking at the computer, I was getting hot. I did my "I am HOT! Please fix things here so I am cooler!" look, and I whined. Grandma Cheryl turned on the ceiling fan, and Grandma Linda went to get me some ice cubes in a plastic container. Ahhhhhhh! SO good! SO COOL!
I had a nice rest on the bed in the computer room.
Grandma Cheryl took some pictures. (You can see them on my page!)
I had my delicious dinner that now has a whole hard-boiled egg on the top. My hard-boiled egg is like my fortune cookie at the end of my meal. I always save it for last! Yum!
Soon I heard the garage door open, and Mommy was pulling into the garage. When Mommy came in I was REALLY EXCITED! Mommy was very happy to see me, too!
It was a great day with my grandmas, and now MOMMY is home, too!
Grandma Linda is staying for a sleepover tonight! We will all be comfy and cozy together, and I will guard BOTH of them!
I am a VERY HAPPY girl!

This morning before Mommy left for the Baby Shower, we went for a run at Hogback Ridge not too far from our house.
The really exciting thing was that Mommy trusted me to be off-leash and to run along with her!
It was a very fun and exciting time!
Mommy said that I did so well that she began to CRY!
She knew that I was having a GREAT time being off my leash and running, running, running!
Mommy is happy that my training is going so well and that I seem to enjoy running as much as she does.
It was a very special morning! I can't wait to tell Daddy all about it!

Grandma Linda and Grandma Cheryl and Mommy were talking and talking and TALKING for such a long time after Mommy got back from the Baby Shower.
I wanted some more attention, so I went and got my Big Blue KONG Wubba and made it SING, SING, SING! Oh, I made such BEAUTIFUL music!
That did the trick! EVERYBODY stopped talking and listened to my music! (My BIG GIRL mouth works SOOOO much better than my baby mouth did!) I can make my music very LOUD, and I can make a LOT of music with my KONG Wubba!
Sure do love it!
My mouth was getting tired of making music, so I lay down in the kitchen as they KEPT talking! I decided to chew on my KONG Wubba for awhile. It's one of those special musical instruments that doubles as a CHEW TOY! (Now, Daddy! Don't you be trying THAT on your guitars!!!!)
Anyway, as I was chewing the top, I realized that there was a TENNIS BALL in the top! I kept chewing , and this little green tennis ball appeared! Cool! Mommy let me chew on it for a bit, but then she noticed that it was coming apart. Uh-oh!
Bye-Bye little tennis ball!

Mommy and I were on our way back home from my first INTERMEDIATE Puppy Class. Mommy noticed a BUMP-BUMP...BUMP-BUMP sound coming from the bottom of the car. It sounded like something was wrong with one of the tires, she said.
Mommy stopped the car, went out to look, and saw that the tire was pretty low. Uh-oh! Mommy did NOT have on her Happy Face!
Mommy called HER Mommy (Grandma Linda), and we drove to her house. Then Grandma Linda followed us back to drop off our car with the bumpy tire at the fix-it place. Grandma Linda brought us back home and gave us HER car so Mommy could drive to work. Grandpa Lynn came and picked up Grandma, and they went back to their house.
I know that THEY thought it was a bad thing when the tire got flat, but I THOUGHT it was a pretty fun ADVENTURE!
I also learned that CARS are very important BOSSES, and when THEY need attention THEY GET IT!

After I got to sleep in the BIG BED with Mommy and Grandma, I was a very happy girl.
Mommy wanted to sleep in a bit, so Grandma Linda got my breakfast for me and then we played together.
Grandma Linda left for home, and Mommy and I watched a movie together on the couch. I LOVE watching a movie on the couch!
Later in the day when it was cooler, Mommy and I went for a run at Girdled Road. I walked a mile, went in my stroller to rest a bit, then I ran for five and a half miles! That's my longest run yet! It is FUN to run with Mommy!
I was tired, so I got to go in my stroller, eat my ice cubes and RELAX! I was so tired that I FELL ASLEEP while Mommy was pushing me in my stroller on the rest of her run!
We had a FUN, FUN day!

Mommy had to work, and Daddy is still hiking and climbing mountains in New York. It was another Two-Grandma Day!
The Grandmas came in, and I was SOOO glad to see them! I jumped around a lot to show them HOW HAPPY I was to see them! They made me my lunch and they ate their lunch, too.
I'm a FAST eater. They are S-L-O-W eaters...VERY slow eaters!
After they finished eating we went out for a nice walk in the park. It was a beautiful sunny day and not too hot.
I sniffed a lot of good smells, and I chased some fast flying butterflies. We watched the kids swim, and enjoyed watching the waves on the lake. We walked all around the edge of the park where it was the shadiest.
On our way out of the park we met a man with his Rat Terrier named Molly. I REALLY, REALLY wanted to play! We looked at one another, even touched noses, and I went into my play bow. Molly started spinning around and barking. I think maybe she didn't know what my play bow meant!
We decided to cross the street and go back to our condo. We were all thirsty, thirsty, thirsty!
I had some applesauce for my snack, and I took a nice rest. Ahhhh! I have NO IDEA what the Grandmas were doing. (They were PROBABLY talking!)
When I woke up we went out for another nice walk. The day was too pretty to stay inside very long! We went on a walk around our neighborhood this time. I saw a bunch of our neighbors who are very nice and friendly. They all said, "Everytime we see you, you are BIGGER!"
We found a favorite spot of mine and all sat down under the big maple tree. It is beside our own backyard and next to the corner so we can see everyone that comes into our development. It is also near the mailboxes, so it is a GREAT place to see LOTS of people!
I chewed on several sticks and just chilled out! The Grandmas like my spot, too. They enjoyed sitting there under my tree. They did NOT chew any sticks, though!
Soon it was time to go back home because Mommy was going to be coming home!
Mommy came in the FRONT DOOR and SURPRISED ME! She usually comes in the garage and I hear the garage door opening. I was sleeping, and when I saw Mommy, I THOUGHT I was DREAMING!!!
I was VERY happy she was home. She gave me my dinner and went to change clothes for the Kid's Running Group.
We left for the Kid's Running Group in Grandma Linda's car. Grandma Cheryl left for her house.
I had a REALLY BUSY day!

Daddy and I had a really nice day together!
Mommy had to work, but I got to have Daddy here with me ALL DAY LONG!
I took a rest while Daddy worked on lesson plans. (He is a teacher.) I kept peeping at him while I slept. I guess I was checking to see if he was still there!
Tonight Mommy and Daddy and I will go for a run. I really like going running with them!
I have Mommy with me , and I have Daddy now, too!
I LOVE Mommy and Daddy!

When Mommy and Daddy moved into their condo, they wanted to check to see if there were any rules about DOGS before they decided to check out breeders. They KNEW they wanted a German Shepherd Dog, but they wanted to make sure that their weren't any rules about size or breed of dog BEFORE they looked for a dog.
They went to the Condo Association meeting and found that there was a rule: The dog couldn't be any more than 60 pounds.
They questioned this rule because in the condo development there are at least THREE big dogs that OBVIOUSLY are large breeds weighing more than 60 pounds.
Mommy and Daddy asked why there was a rule if people weren't following it! They also said that it seemed unfair to use weight to determine whether a dog would be a suitable pet.
The heads of the Condo Association agreed to discuss the matter. In the meantime they told Mommy and Daddy that they shouldn't worry about getting a dog of their choice.
They picked ME from the breeder (My Arthur!), and brought me home.
A few days ago when the Grandmas were at the condo playing with me, the mail carrier knocked on the door with a REGISTERED LETTER from the Condo Association. Grandma signed for it and put it on the counter in the kitchen for Mommy to open when she got home from work.
Mommy was very excited to see me and happy to see the Grandmas, but she was jumping up and down when she read THE LETTER!
The letter said that the NEW POLICY of the condo was to ELIMINATE any pound restriction for dogs from the condo rules!!!!
WE WON!!!!!
My Mommy and Daddy convinced the Condo Association that having a weight limit for dogs was just...not enforcable...unless they forced EVERY dog owner in the condo development to get an official weight measurement from their vet EVERY YEAR and turn it in to the Condo Association. This seemed unreasonable.
I am VERY PROUD of my Mommy and Daddy for fighting for me and all other large breed dogs (and even a few overly-plumpy MEDIUM-SIZED dogs, too!)
Here's to ALL DOGS everywhere! We won a small VICTORY this week!
Bye-Bye Bad Rule!
YEA! ! ! !
