Arrival Story:
Truman joined my family after I lost my rescued Labrador Huey. Truman was a stray picked up by Chilliwack animal control in April of 2008. He was morbidly obese weighing in at a whopping 175 pounds. But after a visit to the vet for an ear infection it was determined that he was suffering from hypothyroid, a condition easily managed with daily medication. Since being on the meds for a month, Truman's already lost 25 pounds! On July 11th, 2008, he found his forever home with me (mom) my lab/whippet, Ella and my 14 yr old cat Sukha.
As of January 2009, Truman is now 90 pounds. He's lost almost half his size and gained years of life.
Bio:
Truman loves belly rubs and cooling off by lying down in rivers and streams. He's just started pool therapy to help him gain strength and avoid injury while he works at losing another 50 or so pounds. Watch for his progress here.
