Arrival Story:
i work at an animals shelter and she came in as a stray that had to be trapped. god only knows how long she was running but my co-worker was walking her the one day and i spotted her outside the window. heard her story and went home that night and told joe. a few weeks later he came and wanted to take her home as a trial deal-she wasnt very good with other dogs, she was alpha. well-having an alpha at home i was worried but that night went rather good. that day was June 2, 2007. shes been with us ever since. (i was only working at the shelter about a month or so before adopting-talk about a weakness). we arent sure what her actual age is so that date we celebrate as her birthday. we kept the name rose (my co-worker who was walking her named her) since she already knew it-and its been a perfect match ever since...

Bio:
the first week or so was a little rough. my son was always safe but rose wasnt fond of the other 2 dogs coming near her when she had a toy or when they were wrestling around. i was on the phone with the trainer quite a few times that week and once we found out what exactly was going on, everything seemed to fall into place. its taken so long but rose is a lovebug...tho she wont admit it yet. when she first came to us she wouldnt give kisses or lay with us long or even let us kiss her (she wouldnt bite but "smile"). now shes all about it. every week she comes around even more and seeing that happen along with our first 2 come around and trust her is amazing. i just smile from ear to ear and thank god that for once-joe was right...she is perfect for us. oddly enough tho-shes our most calm dog. shes a couch potato in disguise. once the firecracker is lit...shes off sprinting around like no ones business.
