Likes:
Jumping over fences, usually into the garden, and the asparagus, so she can munch on veggies.

Pet-Peeves:
Anything that suddenly changes in her environment, empty food dishes, being nudged when she is trying to sleep, when Bridget always takes her ball.

Favorite Toy:
Would have to be the Westpaws Zogoflex Frisbee: rarely leaves her mouth, exept when she is chasing it.Also LOVES the Jolly Ball. And diving for bones in the kiddy pool.

Favorite Food:
She is a Lab. Any food is her favorite food. Altho` leftover catfood snagged from the counter is right up there.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere that her humans take her. And where there are not kids on skateboards.

Best Tricks:
She has many, does a great "Take A Bow.", Sit Pretty, Twirl. She thinks sneaking back into the kitchen to get leftover cat food is pretty nifty.

Arrival Story:
As did Bridget, Talley began her puppyhood at my home, owned by Canine Partners for Life, and destined for Service Work. I had great fun raising her, was heartbroken when she left, and then ended up being able to adopt her. As it turns out, when Talley went on to advanced training, her fearful/anxious temperament became more evident, and she was deemed unsuitable to continue in training. Today, she is living the life of Riley, and is a reactive dog requiring some management and extra training, but I love her dearly. Would not trade her for anything. Talley has progressed to the point where she is able to assist me with my business Look What I Can Do! Dog Training

Bio:
Talley occasionally assists me with training work, at my business, Look What I Can Do! Dog Training. She is very clever, a real trickster and can melt your heart with her big brown eyes. Talley is always watching the world for potentially scary stuff. Even though she looks fearsome when reacting, she is really afraid. This is less and less often these days, with ongoin positive reinforcement training, as I teach at Look What I Can Do! Dog Training

I`m So Happy!:
When Talley is excited (which is often), especially when we come home, she has been very prone to jumping up. She is quite a leaper. (I have seen her in the air up at my head.) Naturally, we reinforce her for sitting and calm behavior as part of her training. Lately, she has taken to grabbing the first suitable item she comes to, upon our return, stuffs in into her mouth, and runs around happily whining and crying. "I`m so happy, look what I have, I`m not jumping." She often tends to "share" like this as well when I am in a yoga position that invites her to shove whatever prize she has in her mouth, right into my face. I have nearly eaten bones, socks, toys etc. When I start laughing, she views it as encouragement and becomes even more persistent. That is one of the things I love most about her, how she is so comical and makes me laugh.

About time Mom helped me do a diary huh? We gonna be quick before she konks out, there so much going on in her life!!! Things is going much better with missing ol BB, a rough patch last week but the dogsters rallied round and made Mom feel better. We sure loves our pals.

I wanted to help Mom prune out some wild rose thorny stickers this morning, it looked like great fun and I wanted to get my nose in there and chase the shears. For some reason she would NOT let me do this!!! We are real busy trying to keep up to Mom these days me and Bridgey, she seems to go off in 10 directions at once. What up with that huh?

We been hearing from some furriend we has not had time to reply to and we ever so grateful to has nice furriends that take the time to keep in touch with us. There been Bit`O Luv treats coming in, Sam H. and Diamond I think of off the top of my labbie head and oh gosh, I know I missing lots but we sure loves you all. Millie and Tank and Thumper sent nice pressies to our pages, and gosh, Barkley sent the coolest Moms day card of all. I wish Mom was not so tired and I could go back to our pages and check for all the names. Mom say when she done this she about done!!

I is sad my SBU furriend Hannah Bannana not doing good with her seizures. I gotta go there next and see if there any news. If you know her will you visit her page? She has not been eating good neither and her meds is not prevening seizures no more. I sure am worried about her. We were real sorry to hear that our pal Tucker lost one of his babies too. That was a bit ago, but we think of his fambly. He had some health problems too. Well I am off to see about Hannah and I thinks that Mom is fading. Luvs you all. !!!!

LABBIE GIRL: HELPING MOM

Billiebob would be proud of me, I did a real good job of helping Mom today. Yup, Bridgey stayed home an I went with Mom, can ya believes that. At the Paws for Life rescue in Chesapeake City MD, there another very scaredy dog that Mom started working with yesterday. He likes other dogs, so I helped today by laying in front of his open kennel run, while Mom sat just out of sight, and tossed yummy treats in. And I got some too! Soon he was coming regular to the front and close to Moms hand. He is only 10 months old and been in shelters for a long time and his name is Monty. I was really good and nice to him and we touched noses too. I did not sharing the treats with Monty at all. Marley, the last scaredy dog Mom worked with, is doing real good in his new home we heard. Sparkey still needs a home, an affectionate playful lab/beagle mix. Adopting a dog is one of the best things our humans can do.

After there we went and I helped Mom work with a lady and her Golden Retriever. She wants him to be a CGC so we done lots of different stuff. Mainly my job there was to be good and calm on leash so the other doggy would not get too excited and Mom says I done a really good job. One liddle glitch, Mom did not see a man walking up behind us, but I did, and he was wearing a hood and had a back pack on and I was ascaird of him, so I jumped and barked but Mom had me by the leash and it was OK but I would not have bit him anyhow I have never bit anyone I just get afraid sometimes. That is why I could not be Service Dog.

Sure wish we had more time to play in the groups. Mom says business comes first and in this economy she has to spend lots of time promoting her business to make sure it does well and she can keep paying all the vet bills and food bills!!!! Gosh I really like to eat, so I guess if Mom spends lots of time on her website that OK by me , but sure misses all my furriends on Dogster too. Probly Mom will spend more time on the Behavior and Training Forum too cause that what she does after all. Loves you all , Talley.
Oh, PS, we is really proud of Mom cause she is going to start mentoring dog training students.
