Everything Happens For A Reason

So I thought I would send an update on Kaylee. Since being home she made a pretty seamless transition. I was shocked at how well she did. She HATES my Dad, she pee's on him pretty much every chance she gets. He's scary looking so I can understand this. LOL.

She hardly has any accidents at all and has a healthy appetite. She still doesn't play with toys but loves play fighting with me. She always tries to sneak into my bed and when she does she goes all the way under the covers and will stay there ALL night.

Anyways, on to the bad news, she saw the vet and had a bladder infection. Which sucked but cleared up nicely. Now, she has a laceration on her eye. I was so scared the other night and called the animal hospital because her eye was puffy, red, with nasty puss coming out and shaking something awful. So I made her comfortable and cuddled her. This calmed her down. Clinic said she was of no emergency and would would see the normal vet the following day.
So long story short, took her immediately the next morning to the vet to discover the laceration. So she's on a topical cream and gets re-checked on Friday, if no progress is made they may have to fix it :(. I was so sad when I heard. As a result, I had a terrible mood all day feeling like the worst mommy ever! We think she got it from my sister's cat. He's an ass and we don't like him. My sis said she watched her really closely but apparently it still happened. So now she may not be babysitting her for a LONG time.

We had some problems taking her pic's because she seems to hate the camera!

I think Kaylee has finally got it. She's home for good!

She is now able to trust her Mommy and know that when I leave, I will come back. When I do return, her little body shakes and wiggles so much her crate almost tips over.

Kaylee has had minor accidents and has tried really hard to be well behaved. But, we all have our slip ups.

She met her Daddy this weekend and was a bit nervous. By the end of the three days she was just as in love with him as her Mommy. Our little "family" has developed.

She misses her Daddy today though. We woke up and he had left for work. Its going to be a while until she see's him again. I hope she still loves him in a couple weeks.

Things a picking up for us, finally.

First Day Home

Today is Kaylee's first day home. It has been quite stressful indeed.
The day started with a thunder storm which she did not enjoy at all. I drove out to Toronto to pick her up and she seemed eager to go. On the car ride home she cried the entire ride. She was not a happy campy at all.

When she arrived home she began poking around my apartment learn her new home. She became very energenic and ran around the house several times. However, her energy went down hill quite quickly. She spent the majority of the time sleeping which I hope was just part of the transition phase.

We went for a small walk to help build a good rapport however this seemed short lived and she came back and slept. She got a bit excited over food but then returned to sleeping.

Hopefully tomorrow she is a bit happier and will miss her foster family a little less.
