I waddled!

Hi everyone...
A belated Happy St. Patrick's Day! I participated in the Salt Lake City St. Patrick's Day parade as part of the Wasatch Waddle entry. It was a fundraiser for Utah Friends of Basset Hounds, who found me my forever home.

Let me tell you about the tickle fest! I got up early on the day of the parade and the whole family got in the car and went and met up with the 60+ other bassets who participated too.

I got a cute scarf that I like to wear, even now, and a green hat, which I wasn't too sure of at the beginning, but people seem to like it and I love the attention, so I kept it on.

The parade route was lined with kids just ready to tickle me and say hi. Don't tell mom, but I even got some candy... heehee.

After we waddled with the hounds, my family and I stayed and watched the rest of the parade. I got even more tickles while I watched. I am just so dang cute, people can't help themselves.

life is good.

I haven't written since I showed up here...I've been busy, but I just got up from my afternoon nap and have some time to chat.

It's been fun living with my forever family. I've been accepted at Dogmode, the absolute best daycare/boarding in Salt Lake City, plus I've gone twice to play there. I rely on Humphrey to make sure I don't get scared, so I've made some new friends.

My listening skills have definately improved. I'm now getting off leash time at the park and while sitting on the front porch.

Humphrey and I are still getting along like crazy. We play and play and play.

My new forever family!!!

On July 8th, I left my foster family and moved into my forever home. First I have to send out a big ARRROOOOO! to my foster mom and Utah Friends of Basset Hounds who saved me and found me my forever family!

I got to go on a car ride, not too long, to get to my new house. Plus, I got a very cute collar, a new leash, and tags with my new name on it. I'm Bacall now.

When I got home, I was taken into the backyard and introduced to my big brother, Humphrey! He is the best! We play and play and play and play! I sometime think he is a big moving chew toy, but he's nice about it. I have my own bed, but guess what? I sleep on one of the human beds with them. It's so great!

My family has been working with me on my leash skills. I'm doing really good and almost have it down. Also, in 3 days, I've learned my forever name. Sometimes, I don't answer, but I know it...

I've earned a nickname already.... Monkey. I can leap and jump and climb and get into all sorts of mischief, if you don't keep an eye on me.
