Arrival Story:
I rescued a boxer, Mysty, who was very ill. When we brought Mysty home she didn't move much. (If you are wondering, this was no ordinary rescue from a shelter...I literally saved this dog's life from a family member on Christmas day, 2006.) The family member that I got her from kept saying he thought she might be pregnant - due to her breasts hanging so low and being full of milk. No one could tell it though. She was very sickly. The day after Christmas I was thankful because my vet's office was open. I took her there and apparently her water had broke. Harry, the vet, couldn't tell internally or externally if she was pregnant. The last resort was an xray. After he viewed the xray he called me in to look at the picture. There Ceasar was, long, large and the only puppy inside of her hiding close up near her spine and towards her chest cavity. My poor baby girl had to stay over night and have a emergancy c-section. Harry warned us that the puppy may or may not be alive. After the surgery he called me and told me that Mysty was the proud mama of a very healthy, very large baby boy. I was so excited! My husband I knew right away we'd keep him. He was a miracle! He's my boxador, my best friend and I hope he has a long and happy life with us.
