Birthday: April 30th 2008 Likes: Playing with toys, other animals, anything that moves. Chewing on pretty much anything that will hold still for it. Pet-Peeves: Mom grabbing me to keep me from doing something I want to, one of my sibs getting treats (I think they should all go to me), being forced to hold still or take a bath. Favorite Toy: I pretty much love all toys, the more the better. That way if I get tired of one I can just move on to another. I like to share the love. Favorite Food: EVERYTHING! Mom says I have a humongous appetite. Favorite Walk: Anywhere the big dogs go. I love going out to do chores with Mom and the big dogs. Best Tricks: Sitting, twirling, giving paw, jumping up on whatever you want...now you understand this is all for a treat. Trying to learn down at the moment. Arrival Story: Hi, Soph here. Mom decided to let me tell my own story. I was an internet find. Mom was online looking at puppies to make her feel better after she had to put her biggest four legged baby down due to old age and poor health. It was the second loss within a year of an old friend. Mom's pack are all getting up there and her and Dad needed a little puppy energy and joy back in their lives. I just had to come and brighten their lives a little.
I joined a pack of five and at first they weren't real sure about me (I'm way smaller than any dog they'd ever seen before). But I never let it get me down and now I pretty much run the show from the pawrents to the grumpy old dogs and even the kitties on the place. Been a while since I wrote in my diary so guess I better get caught up. It's been a hot summer, but at least I gots my pool. I'z quite a swimmer and swim with Mom a little while most days...someone has to be lifeguard for her:) Don't know what she'd do without me.
Another of my jobs is cleaning Daddy's shirt front and his whiskers and face. He is the sloppiest eater you could ever imagine. I mean it would be embarrassing if I wasn't there to clean him up and make him presentable.
And then there is my bib cleaning duty for da Gramma. She spills stuff on her bib when she eats too and I have to clean all the big chunks off before the bib goes in the wash so we don't clog up da washer machine. Just think of all the maintenance expense I am savin da Momma by cleanin Grammies bib. Gee, I must be worth my weight in gold at least!
Finally there is the tricks... I'z learned quite a few tricks this year...sit, twirl, give paw, jump up on a chair or anything and then sit or twirl...of course I only perform for a treat ...they are a great motivator. Mom wants me to learn down but I haven't really mastered that one yet. I am short enough as it is, I don't really like going lower...I mean it's hard to reach for a treat when you are laying down. Doesn't really seem very sensible to me??? I guess I'll learn it if Mom insists, but she's gonna have to work for that one. Hehe!
Well, that's about all for now. Can't wait for fall to get here! I just love having all four seasons. Gives a pup something to look forward to all the time.
I heard Mom and Dad talking and they was saying how they can't imagine what life would be like without me! Little old me! They are so glad they got me and I was that spark of life that they hoped I would be when they decided to get a new puppy. Now I don't want the other dogs to be jealous, but, what can I say. I'z always gonna be da baby even when I'm old and gray, at least dats what Momma says...I'z always gonna be her baby. Oh yeah, life is good!
We gots a swimming pool! It's above ground so da only way to get in is from da deck and Mom and Dad put a gate so I can't get up there unless they are there with me. They also got me a life vest and today was the first day I got to use it. Boy was it great! I just jumped in and away I went chasing leaves floating on the water. Mom kept thinking I was getting tired and grabbing me and setting me back up on the deck but I was having a blast and would jump back in. It was a great way to spend a really hot afternoon. It got up around 1o0 degrees here today.
Mom says she's going to take some video of me swimming and put it on my page but she hasn't done it yet. Boy I wish all my furiends could come and swim with me. It would be so fun.
