My Day At The Dogtor And Stuff...

Dear diary and Team Binx, yesterday was such a long day.... Mom and I went to see the Dogtor and were there for a really long time. I had my thyroid test and mom couldn't believe that it dropped down to a 1.6, she said that is much to low for a Sheltie like me. I have to take 2 pills a day for the next month until I get tested again. I'm ok though, just makes me more tired when my numbers are low is all so not to worry about that!

Next the Dogtor listened to my heart. Remember that it dropped was low a couple months ago. Mom always worries when it gets checked but woohoo, it was 80 yesterday and all good there!

After that I had to go back in that room with the Dogtor so they could take some of my blood for my allergy test. Mom said that she hopes like mad that the test shows that I am allergic to something new that I wasn't before so that she knows how to help me get better all the way. So please hope for a new thing to show up for me ok!!

We weren't done yet though, oh no.... I had to start a new medicine called Atopica. The Dogtor has wanted me to be on that for a long time because it's supposed to be real good for pups like me with such bad allergies. It costs a whole lot of money though, over $80 for 15 pills that I have to take every single day. Mom got a box and said she will figure it out in 15 days when I need more and my allergy results will be in then, too, and the meds will be over $200, she said she would figure that out then too. She said that she will do whatever it takes to make me feel better.

Oh, the Dogtor said that I need to gain a couple pounds and that I am too skinny. He said that mom feeds me very healthy with the food she makes me and I need a touch of fat. Can you imagine hearing that! I got to have a little extra dinner last night, but I woofed it down so that I threw up all over the couch. Mom hugged me and washed the couch and put fresh blankies on it for me. Today from my new meds I am feeling real tired so staying close to mom and resting today.

So now that you know how I am doing right now, that contest.... Second place has been hot on my tail again now that we're down to the last few days. Sunday night can't come soon enuff can it!! Thanks for all the votes and all Team Binx! Here is the link again in case anyfur still needs it:

wow, so much happening..
We are fattening up Fritz right now. Tell your mom not to feed you "more" so quickly. That makes your stomach upset. A little more every day - like a few kibbles more every day for each meal. Also make sure your mom feeds you twice a day.
She could add rice to your kibbles or cooked potatoes or sweet potatoes, which are good when you have all these annoying allergies also topping the food with a few big spoons of cottage cheese with a banana mixed in works well :o)
Altogether it sounds good, Binx. Trust your mom, she knows what to do..

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too well. Hopefully those pills work and your thyroid comes back up. I know all about that cause my cat Gizmo has problems with her thyroid too. You just get some rest and I'm sure your mom will take great care of you. I sent you a cake today because my dog brain wasn't working right and I thought it was your birthday (but mom reminded me that it isn't until next week). But it was good that I sent it today cause it will make you feel better!

I would even split that into 3 meals a day.. as others say.. add a LITTLE exta each time.

You will get the Thyroid figured.. took me ( Mum ) a year to get the dose right.

Hoping this allergy thing starts to improve

Hello everyone. No throwing up today, had a bit of an upset belly today from my new meds but feeling lots better tonight. I even trotted out to the beach and was naughty, uh huh... You know those pesky neighbors that drive us bonkers.... weeeeellll.... they always have stuff all over on the beach.... there is an old boat they have and instead of tying it to the dock they put that great big heavy thing that's attached to a long rope on the beach where I like to walk and do some business once in awhile.... wellllll, yup, that's right, I peed right onto that rope!!! I just couldn't help myself, their stuff is everywhere you know and what's a guy to do...

Oh, Jolanda and Sonja, no potatoes of any kind for me. I am real allergic to those! Mom makes my food. I get to have chicken breast, chicken liver, brown rice, salt free veges, and fruits mixed together. The dogtor said I have a pawsome diet, just need a little fat in there is all. I LOVE my food mom makes me so much that if that counter was lower when she was making it I would so be on there to "help"!! Flicka, mom said that of all the things that could be wrong to worry about my thyroid isn't one since we keep getting it tested and my meds adjusted so she said not to worry, she isn't freaking out this time! Chloe, that cake looks too yummy!

Well, after I didn't feel good all day and mom took care of me my mom is sick, sick, sick tonight and we are going off to snooze. She really needs to start sleeping more, she gets sick when she doesn't. Off to watch over her for the night. Nighty night everyone! :) Binx
