Simon LOVES to lay in lush, soft green grass. Simon won't need a huge yard, just big enough for him to get comfortable in.
FLIES! According to his foster mom, Simon is terrified of flies when they are in the house. Outside he's fine, but in his house, he freaks!
Simon isn't necessarily a "toy" dog. He likes having them around him, but doesn't directly play with them.He doesn't chase balls or anything.
Anywhere that leads to some grass for him to rest in.
Simon doesn't do tricks, i think its the Bassett hound in him.
I pulled Simon from one of the city pounds here. I noticed him there getting his picture taken. He couldn't walk and had to be picked up. I had to get him out of there so i inquired about him. Simon's story is pretty sad. Back in April,Simon's original owner passed away, when this happened Simon ran away from his home. When the relatives were there to pack up, they noticed Simon was gone. He came back a few days later but with a shattered pelvis due to being hit by a car. I guess the relatives couldn't take care of him with his injury so they took him to the pound. Pretty bad-lose your owner, get hit by a car then get thrown in the pound to die. Fast forward a 1 1/2 months and Simon is doing awesome. His pelvis has pretty much completely healed almost 100%! Best of all Simon has a smile on his face that he didn't have for some time. Simon is pretty much mobile but he would do best in a home that had very limited if no stairs. He's currently living in a home with 2 cats and pretty much gets along with other dogs. Nothing really bothers Simon except flies. He doesn't even bark! His foster mom has heard him only once. Simon is exactly 33 lbs. He has the fur and markings of a Jack Russell but with a long body, big feet, head and tail like a Bassett. He looks like a stuffed animal. Everywhere i take him people stop and go crazy over him. Simon is VERY laid back and just wants to be comfortable, whether it be laying in the grass or having his bed set up right in front of the A/C. His foster mom takes wonderful care of him and nursed him back to health! Thanks Tracy! So now Simon is ready for his forever home!

UPDATE 8/21/08 Simon has been officially adopted by his Foster Mom Tracy. She couldn't bare to give him up. Her family is in love with him too! Simon is now with a great loving family that loves and treats him like the king that he is! Myself and everyone at the rescue couldn't ask for a better happy ending! Yeah Simon and Tracy!!!
