Pet-Peeves: Cats in her yard, she loved to chase them away
Favorite Toy: Her very favorite toy was a football, but she also liked stuffed animals, rawhide chews and old tennis shoes
Favorite Food: Any food and a taste of whatever mom was eating. Especially liked ice cream.
Favorite Walk: Down to the neighborhood park where she loved to run.
Best Tricks: Niki had obedience training, but you could just talk to her and she seemed to understand what you were saying.
Arrival Story: We had been without a dog for 6 months after losing our two sheperd mixes within a few months of each other. They had lived very long lives and I missed them very much. I had started checking the local shelters for German Sheperds and when I called the County Animal Shelter I was told that they did have some mixed breeds. We went down there on Christmas eve and found Niki. She was dirty and stinky, it took two baths to get her clean. She was a valued member of our family. She gave us love, devotion and companionship and lots of laughs during the 11 years that she was a part of our lives. She died of heart failure in April of 2000, but she will never be forgotten.
