We arrived at the airport at 6:00pm and they were already there!! The arrived at 5pm. We were told 7:30pm. Not a bad thing to get in early - EVER!! Shuge (now Lexi) was in Darcy's crate and Darcy was in a mini-van with 6 other rescues in crates. She saw me pull up, looked a 2nd time and her tail started to wag!! She has NEVER done this!! :) So I got her collar and lead and went to the van to get her. She was really happy!! It was amazing how she was acting!

My friend, Jackie, followed me up from NJ to see this whole event go down. Boy was I glad she did! The other rescues left and I had an extra collar and leash that fit Lexi. She is soooo adorable!! Her tail did not stop swaying the entire time we were with her!! Called her foster dad and he was on his way! I gave him directions in from the highway and he said that he was driving a convertable Audi! What??!! Lexi made it BIG TIME!! Imagine from a Kill Shelter to a convertable Audi!! Her foster dad, Terry, was such a great guy - he's a 'houla owner from way back!! Loves and adores the breed!

So Lexi left with her dad, Jackie went back to NJ with a big 'ol grin on her face and Darcy and I headed west - home. We had a few stops along the way for stretch breaks. The last 2 hours I didn't have a vehicle behind me at all. Saw lots of deer - prayed they wouldn't jump out in front of me. And finally pulled in around 1:30am.

I let Turner out for his meet and greet. He heard something and immediately his fur went up. He was on high alert! Darcy came out of the truck, freaked and scared, ignorning Turner - Thank God!! He kept sniffing her and was trying to read a negative reaction from her but she gave him none! She was wagging her tail at him as well. So I walked her around the house and then around the yard a few times. We finally went to sleep around 2:30 after Darcy ate and finally drank some water.

Got up around 7:30 and just opened up her crate door and walked away. Turner and I went outside, I left the door open, and she came out to inspect. Luckily we are very country and all was quiet - no airplanes or traffic noise here! She sniffed quite a bit, did her business and went back to her crate.

I gave Darcy a bath and trimmed her nails. Took both kids for a walk - no problems. It was like old times!! Came back, fed them both and chilled out for about 45 minutes. I was vacuuming and heard Turner bark, peaked around the corner and there was my reactive pit in a play-bow enticing her to play! Which off course they did!! It was zoomie time in the house!! Now were at naptime and all is well.

Big Howdy to Cain for saving Shuge (Lexi) she is beautiful and will definately have a wonderful life because of you!

Thank you P.A.W.S. in Woodville, TX for saving this girl - God smiled on Darcy when you rescued her! Thank you Duncan, Tiller and Southpaws Express for everything that you guys did (like put up with me)! Thank you St. Tammany's Humane Society for holding my girl before transport and taking such good care of her!! And of course, thank you Pilots and Paws. You were the last leg in her journey to get HOME!

And so her forever life begins.... her with us. :)
