Arrival Story: I fostered Darcy for PAWS in Woodville, TX. She was found as a feral pup with her siblings and mother. PAWS rescued her and she had developed some fear issues. Being a trainer we decided to take her on and make her shine!
Bio: Darcy arrived on 9/21/2010. She is officially home!! We drove to Allentown, PA where she was flown from Louisana with Pilots and Paws!! These people are truly angels in the sky!! Darcy did so well traveling in a small plane with strangers and other dogs. We feel truly blessed to have her in our lives.
It is very cold here! I've only been eating once a day, usually when mom is sitting in the room with me. I'm totally freaked. UGH! See when it gets cold the ice expands between the boards on the deck. It sounds like a gunshot and I hate guns! So I sit in my crate and shake. Mom didn't know it was going to be so cold last night or she would've put on my Anxiety Wrap. I ate after mom and dad got home from work (breakfast).
Well today I was scared again but dad was making mom pancakes. Yummm!! Dad said it was mom and dad's 20th Wedding Anniversary. That's a really long time in dog years! :):) Anyhoo... dad made a pancake for just me and Grunt. Mom had made our food up and put some heated SPAM in it for us. Well I, of course, was not about to eat being scared. So I sat on the sofa with mom. Mom told me to be brave and go eat. Nope! Sitting right here on the sofa with you mom! Well dad broke up the pancake and put it in Grunt's bowl and then said, come on girl and put some in mine! OHHHHH! I love pancakes! I decided I was brave enough and went and ate just the pancake! Well, mom got ready for our walk and I knew it was cold outside so I decided I better eat so I'm warm on my walk. I ate my whole breakfast! Mom was proud of me and I had a full belly! :):)
After our walk Grunt and I played (I beat him up!). We went back in the house and chilled. The temperature was dropping and mom said it was going to be frigid cold tonight. Good thing I've got this huge bed to lay on and be warm! :):)
Everyone!! I'm thankful for my mom and dad. Their patience has brought me so much joy! I can be myself with them and have no fears. For all the beds and pillows in the house. For they are all mine at one time or another :) For the yummy food, the home made ice cream in the summer, the bully sticks I get every night after I finished my dinner. The cookies that are soo yummy. The beautiful collars, lead, shirts, sweatshirts and jackets to keep me warm in the winter. The bubble baths to keep me clean and shiney. The crate in the car and in the living room so I can feel safe if I get nervous. For Dr. Mount, my absolute favorite vet. She is so gentle and sits on the floor with me for my exams. I adore her. But most of all, I'm greatful for my mom. She saw me at Petco when I was a wee pup and knew she was my mom. She has never given up on me, never lost patiences with me and has loved me unconditionally from the start. She keeps me safe and I love her...
