Favorite Food: He loves hot dogs, and anything with meat.

Favorite Walk: Anywhere with me

Arrival Story: Shywin (renamed Sherwen) was born above the Arctic Circle in the bush of Alaska. He was given to us because of his seziures in 2002. His sezuires turned out to be from a lack of vitamin B, and when switched to a food with enough for him, his seziures stopped completely.

Bio: Sherwen is my personal favorite out of all the dogs. I've bonded the most with him. He is completely blind from PRA.
I noticed him stumbling around at night for a while when we first got him. Then he started stumbling in daytime. I stood him in front of the fridge, and slowly opened the door. He didn't notice it until it lightly bumped his nose. I knew that he was completely blind then.
He is an amazing dog. When you first meet him at home, you wouldn't suspect his blindness. In strange surroundings, he has a tendency to stick incredibly close to me or Ty. In harness, he is amazing. I admire him. He can never run alone, but is a wonderful leader with another dog next to him. Ty and Kallie help him out on the trail by nudging him when there's a hole or something in the trail, and will let him occasionally touch them to make sure that they're there. He responds perfectly to his commands, and I use them to help direct him around. He has made a wonderful addition to my team, and is one dog I could never bear to part with.
Sherwen was put down late October of 2008. His health had been going downhill fast for the past few months, and the things that he use to love didn't even get his attention anymore. Losing him so close to Dusty made it that much harder, but it was better than seeing him at the lowest point of his life.
