Todd's Life...

December Snow...

The past week has been full of new sights, smells and sounds.
The snow began falling on Wednesday early morning and kept falling for several days. I was a little nervous about it at first but soon decided that snow is FUN!
I love to bury my head in it to smell the grass underneath and to jump through the drifts like a bunny...it's cold!!
Mom dug a path all of the way around the house and through the yard for me to explore..I call it my racetrack and I can RUN fast on it!
Then the freezing rain fell and made a layer of ice on top of the snow. I fell through when I tried to walk on it so I'm sticking to the paths for now.
More snow is supposed to fall tonight..I can't wait!

It's been a busy Month!

Mom and I have been busy this month. We are now volunteers for Havanese Rescue Inc. http://www.havaneserescue.com/
and have begun fostering for Angel Paws rescue which is near Seattle.
I've helped two doggie foster brothers in finding their forever homes in the past month AND I got neutered! I'm officially a big boy now =)
Mom says she'll be happy when my hormone levels drop so that I quit humping everything..
I say good luck with that one! BOL

New Dog Park!

Mom said that we have a new dogpark in our area. The Grand opening was today and Mom went to check it out...I can't go yet cuz' the Vet say's "not till after your next set of shots" but I'm still looking forward to playing there and meeting LOTS of friends.
Mom told me ALL about it. There are two seperate areas...one for small dogs like me and another for the big doggies and both areas are HUGE and have two gates that you have to walk through to get into them. They also have lots of grass and picnic tables and benches to play on. I can't wait until next month when I get to see it for myself!!
I'll RUN like the WIND!!!!

HOT!

It was a VERY HOT day in Washington state. Mom said that it was at least 95 degrees and we don't have air conditioning!
I was sleepy most of the day because of the weather but as soon as the sun started to set and it cooled off a little I got to go outside to play!
I played with my human Boy in the sprinkler and chased him in the swing...I even tried to climb up the big slide and catch his toes...he always giggles when i do that.
Mom and I went for a walk to see my grandma and grandpa...they love me lots and call me their "grandpuppy".
I got new treats today, they are flat meaty lamb slices..my Mom said that they are LUNGS..they taste like meat to me...I LOVE them.
Mom stuffed one in my Kong and part of it got STUCK! I can't get the sucker out...it's driving me a little bonkers.
My Kitty Tucker and I have been playing Tag all over the house. =)
He bites me sometimes when I'm playing to rough but he's my BEST friend anyways.
Time for a potty break..

VET...

So I don't know what mom was thinking but she decided that I needed to go to the Dr. for a check up.
Hmmm... that didn't sound like a great idea to me but sure, why not, it's a trip into the outside world anyway. I like going places and our last drop in visit to the Vet went okay. They have treats!
SO, I crate up and off we go. We get there and they are full up...people and dogs and cats everywhere.
They say it's going to be awhile but we made the drive and so Mom thinks that we should wait it out.
I'd rather be home playing with my toys but Mom's the boss so I deal with it and hang out in her arms while people gather around and ask Hava-what? So Mom explains to them that Havanese are the national dog of Cuba and that since I'm a short coat I'm a little different looking than the norm and that my personality and temperment are AWESOME!
I love the attention but I'm a little nervous because we are at the Vet and the last time that I was at a Vet they stuck me with a needle and squirted yucky stuff in my mouth.
We finally go back to the exam room and in comes the VET. She was pretty nice. She cooed about how cute I was while she poked and prodded me and told Mom that I had a slight overbite but that it should get better as I got older.
I got weighed and I am a big boy at 4lbs 4oz!
The Vet pronounced me as in great shape and told Mom that she had a really great (and spoiled) puppy...but we already knew that right?
So that was it! No needles poking me and no yucky stuff!
I guess that the Vet isn't so bad after all :)

Finally!

Mom finally figured out what kind of food to feed me.
As long as she sprinkles some crushed Wildside Salmon treats on to I dig right into my Eukanuba and Merrick Puppy plate mix.
I even had my kitty brother Diesel join me for a meal..bol
Silly Mommy,I knew that you'd figure it out eventually. ;)

Bath Time!

I've only been home three days but boy am I getting dirty playing outside!
My little paws are turing brown and my knees are getting grass stains on them!
Mom said "Enough is enough Todd...time for a B..A..T..H.."
She set me in the sink in warm water up to my tummy and got me all wet.
Then she gave me a full body massage with this bubbly smelly stuff and then more water to wash it off.
I sat very quietly and enjoyed the attention.
Mom wrapped me up in a warm towel and patted me down. Then she blow dried me!
I liked the feel of the warm air on my body and I soon was ready to play again. I got to go back outside to potty and go for a walk when we were done.
I had a little kibble and some water and Mom layed me in my kennel *yawn* I sure am sleepy...time for bed.
