DNA

What is that stuff anyway? My mom says I am not the dog she thought I was. She has always called me a golden retriever. I am having a doggy identity crisis now. She says she sent my DNA off and it says I am a chow chow and a german shepherd and a little bit of cocker spaniel. Chow chow and cocker spaniel were not unexpected (completely) but GERMAN SHEPHERD!? Do I look like a German Shepherd? And NO Golden Retriever?! No wonder I just ran to the ball and stared at it when she threw it! I am glad Biscuit is a labrador retriever because he always brings the ball right back (I don't know why because she just throws it again!)

Pet Parade

We went to a pet parade to raise money for our shelter. My mom says that is where I was the first time she saw me. I was in a costume contest, but my costume was too big and I kept walking out of it. My mom says I am already a superman and don't need a costume to prove it. Then we went in a "cutest dog adopted from the shelter" contest and I WON! My mom says it doesn't matter that only one other dog entered, I still won and that is what counts. She said the other dog was cute, too but she knew I would win.

Canine Good Citizen Test

My mom swears she helped me write this before, but I don't see it anywhere! We went to a pet expo at the park. I was being so good my mom decided I should try to get a Canine Good Citizen thing. I had to sit, wait, down, walk, and finally my mom left me for 3 minutes! I knew she would come back so I just waited like a big boy! She was so proud!

What is DNA?

My mom took me to Petco and they had this test. I didn't even have to be able to read to take it! They put a big Qtip in my mouth and took some DNA (whatever that is). Then my mom mailed it and now some lab is trying to figure out what breed I am. My mom says I am still her best little boy (and Biscuit is the best big boy and Connor is the best old man...she says we are all the best!) no matter what. She said something about learning more about my personality quirks...what is up with that?!

I DID IT!

My mom took me and her friend's foster dog to the petfest at the park today. They had some kind of test that was called the Canine Good Citizen Test. It was just all the stuff we do at the obedience club we go to. The good news is that I PASSED! My mom is so proud of me! She said I was an angel all day. I got to greet hundreds of dogs today. Also, I think my friend Teddy is going to be adopted. It was a great day!

Evacuating...

I had to evacuate last week. I got to stay at Baytown Inns and Suites in Nashville with my family. I didn't know how good I had it until I got home and it was dark and HOT! I got a little car sick on our 14 hour drive to Nashville. Thank goodness it only took us 10 1/2 hours to get home! My mom got me some little pills and they helped a little. I am glad the electricity is back on ...I live for air conditioning!
