Arrival Story:
Never having a dog before, at 21, I picked up a stray. This was in June of this year, and Bijou quickly became my baby. I pampered her, took her places, played with her.....a major joy in my life. This September 25th, I was getting ready for my best friends wedding, and while Bijou was outside playing on our 10 acres, she got hit by a car and died instantly. I am still very very devestated about this, and in shock. Honestly, I expected her to be with me for ten or fifteen years....but I guess that wasn't God's plan. Shook up, I carried on and went to the wedding, expecting to have to come home and bury my beloved Bijou. When I got home, thankfully my family had taken care of the burial, but my mother was holding a new suprise........ A 6 WEEK OLD BASSET HOUND!!! I honestly was so shaken still about Bijou that I didn't even look at her...my aunt said 'how are you' and I preceded to weep because I wanted to come home to Bijou....but that wasn't possible. After a few minutes, I mustered up enough willpower to look at the new pup, and she's been the most beautiful distraction to this devestating time. We've taken her to the vet, she was a whopping 5.5lbs--although I knew that would only last about a WEEK......lol, and I am beginning to feel a little more closure to the loss of my Bijou. Molly is her name, and she is a jewel in my life. Though Bijou is gone, her few 5 months with me gave me time to take her in, love her, and give her more life than she would have ever known being in the woods. I have also been given a gift of new life--and I am thankful for this new experience and challenge....I feel like I just was getting over this puppy stage and now I get to start ALLLLL over. HAPPY TRAILS TO ME!!!

I was excited late Saterday night when my mom decided to take me in the car bye bye. Then-we kept driving & driving, and when we GOT to where we were going, SHE DIDN'T EVEN TAKE ME IN THE HOUSE WITH HER! She made me stay outside all night long....but I did meet a suitor.....hehe....he's cute. His name is Grumpy, and we got to play all day long.......DOES HE HAVE A HOME? I think he lives across the street, but he never goes home! Poor guy, I'd be upset if I had to be outside that much! We came home Sunday night and I slept for almost 24 hours straight-I hope we don't have any more hurricanes anytime soon..................

Well guess what? I went and saw Dr. Lisa today, and she gave me my last set of shots (ouch!) and checked me for heartworms, and regular worms & I was free & clear. Mom appologized to the doc for me being dirty, and that nice lady commented on how clean I actually was & how clean my ears were. I was SO happy to get to go bye-bye! I am 30lbs now (because gramma feeds me way to much!) Anyhoo, I'm gonna go hit the sack now-

Well, after eating almost EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE....(and I do mean almost everything--including the floor, mommy's new fax machine & tons of paper)...I'm gaining weight like a crazeewoman! Christmas is coming, and I'm going to take photo's with Santa next weekend. Mommy had her back surgery this week, so I've been TRYING to be extra careful with her-but I'm just soooo clumbsy. She's been in her bed IGNORING me for like 3 weeks, and its just made me sooo upset....so to cheer her up I've done some very funny things. She was on the phone the other day in her room, and she came out of the door to find that I had the fax machine phone reciever in my mouth---I JUST WANTED TO GET IN ON THE GOSSIP TOO! Then, when my grandmom got up to get some water, took her chair cusion & put it on the floor so that I COULD lay on it.........THAT FLOOR GETS AWEFULLY COLD-somehow mom & grandmom thought it was funny, but I just got SOOO over sitting on the cold floor.....I'm glad to see that mommy laughed....she's been crying a lot lately with her back & its been really freaking me out a lot. I just give her kisses & hugs a lot. PLUS--thanksgiving was SO awesome.......I got to play with BOOMER!!!!!!!! He brought his slave, Nette, and I've heard rumors that we're betrothed.......and gonna have lots of babies! He's a pretty big stud next to me.....but I better go hit the sack....
