Arrival Story:
My father passed away in 1998, and my mother decided she wanted a companion dog. After a long search, she told us all about how my father had once seen a Clumber Spaniel and since he was a huge fan of St. Bernards (that is what I grew up with, they reminded him of miniature white St. Bernards. So it was decided we would find a Clumber Spaniel. Well about 6 mos., and countless dog shows, we found a breeder who was having a litter and we were on the list. We picked Sherbert up in May of 1999 and she was the cutest puppy I had ever laid eyes on. My mother remarried and thought she would bring her to Florida with her where she would be living, well that wasn't going to happen and that's how the princess became in my guardianship, and I couldn't be happier !!!!

Bio:
Sherbert has had her share of medical problems since about 1-1/2 years. She's had 2 knee replacements on her hind legs, 2 surgeries to remove various objects (a rock and bits of a ball) from her intestinal tract, she has very bad hip dysplesia and arthritis in her rear knees. Her vetrinarian and accupuncturist are very suprised she is able to walk. Sherbert goes for Physical Therapy (hydro-therapy) and accupuncture treatments - without starting her physical therapy at a young age, I don't think she would be still walking, but thank god she can, she has really built up her muscle in her rear end. Sherbert is also on thyroid medication, daily prevocox, adequine shots, allergy shots, eyes and ears need constant attention. All in all for everything she's been through, she is the happiest go lucky dog in the world. We are truly blessed to have her. The amount of money we have spent on her doesn't matter to me at all, she gives it all back double and triple by just being her big stupid Clumber self, and anyone who really knows this breed, knows what I'm talking about. They are the cuddliest, biggest hearted, biggest personality dogs.

My Diary

Almost a year has passed

Sunlight streams through window pane unto a spot on the floor....
Then I remember,
It's where you used to lie, but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound....
Then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill,
Then I remember it can't be yours....
Your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall
And lay them with the absent voice and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials in a blanket of my love
And keep them for my best friend until we meet above.

Sherbert has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge

It is with my deepest regret, to say that Sherbert crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. She could no longer walk, and instead of keeping her around for me, I had to make the hardest decision of my life to have her euthanized. I don't know that I will ever have a dog like her, I've lost my baby and my best friend.
