Arrival Story:
Logan was from a puppy mill where he was used as a stud dog. He lived his entire life in a 4x2 cage until he was rescued in March by a wonderful organization, Bernese Auction Rescue Coalition. This group rescues Berners that have been put up for auction after the breeder is through with them. The dogs are given medical care and go to a foster home until a forever home can be found. Logan is scared of everything but he is slowly starting to trust us and we are thrilled to have him as an addition to our family.

1 Year In My New Home!

1 Year Anniversary

I recently had my one year anniversary with my new family. Before them I had never known freedom as I was in a puppy mill locked in a cage since I was born, I was now four.

Here is a letter my mom sent to the Bernese Auction Rescue Coalition (BARC) thanking them for rescuing me and for bringing me into their lives.....

It was a year ago we picked up our beautiful boy Logan in Kentucky. I remember the anticipation of seeing him for the first time, of how beautiful he was when Patti brought him out. Meeting Logan in person brought tears to my eyes.

Logan was so scared when we got him. He was scared of people, esp. men, noises, doors, the house, and food. I guess pretty much everything. This was our first experience with a dog who had come from such a horrific situation.

In the beginning we pretty much let Logan do his own thing. We gave him lots of love and attention, even though he wasn't used to people fawning all over him he allowed it. We had our ups and downs, lots of them.

It is now a year and what a difference. Logan is a loving, happy boy who wags daily. When I come home he runs down to the garage door with our other two pups to greet meet. When we say the word "Walk" he barks uncontrollably (only time he barks) and runs up and down the hallway wagging his tail.

He now loves affection and always comes over so you can pet him.
We adore Logan, and every time we see a new personality trait come out it touches me in a way I didn't think possible. I want to thank all the people that made this happen, who without their help we wouldn't have Logan.

I want to thank Abbey for fostering him, Patti Johnson for helping arrange the adoption and for suggesting we consider Logan even though he was a little older than we were originally looking for, Mary Ann Monte for helping arrange for transport, and Patti Finley who drove from Kentucky to Missouri to pick up Logan so we wouldn't
have to drive so far.

Thank you all for the wonderful work you do and for bringing such joy into our lives by allowing us to adopt Logan.

Lisa, Logan's Mom
