Arrival Story:
We were devastated when our precious Shelby died suddenly--hard to say if we or the other dogs missed her the most. It was especially tough on our blind/deaf Helen who depended on Shelby so much. Upon searching through PetFinder for a dog similar in size, type, and personality to Shelby, we came across Happy in Goodland, Kansas. We decided to drive out there and meet her, taking Helen with us. When we arrived we discovered that there were two--sisters--Happy and Sara (at that time named Tuila?) and they were totally bonded. When we took Happy out for a walk, Sara went ballistic, and vice versa. Linda and I looked at each other and decided that we could not possibly break them up, so we took them both! They have fit right in, Helen LOVES them and plays with them all the time, they get along great with all the other dogs, and our son Aaron has really fallen for Sara. When he gets in from work or wherever, she literally jumps into his arms, and they kiss each other. When he leaves for college, Sara will really miss him. They are so funny and loving and they just compliment each other so much, that we decided to put them together here, since they are ALWAYS together. We know we did the right thing by taking them both--it was worth the long drive to adopt them!!

Bio:
The lady at the shelter said that they were abandoned by their owner--a neighbor cared for them for a few weeks but finally turned them in. They had been chained outside together for all that time. Not much else is known, except that we believe they have the same mother but possibly different fathers! Sara has obvious Pomeranian in her while Happy shown none, but has maybe some lab. both have corgi for sure. Sara is very vocal with her woo-woo-woo--she is the alpha female, and is a "live wire",while Happy ,while much larger, is more low key , quieter. and submissive.
