Quick Bio:

Likes:
He really likes rolling over for a belly rub.

Pet-Peeves:
Barney does not like children - in fact he has shown some aggression towards them. We don't have children so this is not a problem for us.

Favorite Toy:
Barney loves rawhides.

Favorite Food:
He eats Pedrigree - since we don't ever give our puppies or kitties people food that is what he gets.

Favorite Walk:
Barney likes to run around the yard chasing Charlie.

Arrival Story:
My husband and I had gone to our local animal shelter to drop off some things. We decided to peak at the dogs and there was Barney in the last run. His 'roommate' was this very young, very excited little dog that jumped and pranced and did everything he could to get our attention. Barney, his name was David back then, just sat and reached up his paw as if to say 'hi'. He had the saddest eyes and his time was up. We walked out of there without him. I could not get him out of my mind. The next day I was off work and I was out and running a few errands. It was if my vehicle had a mind of its own. I wound up back and at the shelter and before I knew it, I had paid Barney's adoption fee and was loading into my truck! My hubby was a little miffed at me, but he has grown to love Barney just as much as I do!

Bio:
Barney does not appear to like our cats very well. Because one of our kitties, Mitten, is blind we felt it was best if Barney became an indoor/outdoor dog. He actually very much likes our back yard. It is fenced in and he has this really nice dog house filled with soft hay for him to lie in. He gets to come in and sleep most evenings but he prefers being outside, digging in the yard and hiding his rawhides and toys out in the backyard. Plus he has a very deep, gruff bark! We always know when someone has come up in the yard.

Forums Motto:
Dum de dum dum dum!

We think Barney may have been abused. When we first brought him home he would shy away from your hand when you brought it to his head. He has just about gotten over that now. He also has scars all around his head and neck. We wish he could talk and tell us his story but he will only experience the good from now on with us. He is a very smart, very low key kind of dog and we love him very much!
