ALL animals are special. Some animals are extraordinary. They exude love and loyalty and they just make people and other animals happy! When one of those animals comes to Rainbow Bridge, a new star is born and it shines brightly for one year, but each day it fades just a little until it reaches the same brightness as all the other stars. We usually have anywhere from 100-200 bright stars shining every night in varying stages of brightness. On rare occasions, when 2 brand new bright stars are shining at the exact same time, part of husky mountain melts and a new lake is created. We angels all run to the new lake and swim and play and celebrate. We can always tell which angels star helped form the lake because when they jump in, a rainbow forms over their head. As we figured out which angels formed this lake, we decided to name this lake the Bob Dog Dot lake
Bob Dog Dot lake will be a very special lake and all of the animals are already flocking there to see how wonderful they feel when they jump in. One dog already told me that the bottom of the lake is lined with corn on the cob and the German Shepherd club is already putting a meat market up on the outer banks. This is going to be a great hangout!!

Hi pups! Sorry it's taken me a few days to bark about Smiley's welcome party but let me tell you...we are all JUST now recovered. That boy is like the energizer bunny. He never stops and he had so many things to show us that it took up the better part of the week. Since he was new to Rainbow Bridge, I decided to meet up with him and ask him what he would like to do for his welcome party. He came with several of his good pals, Babyhuey, Pepper, Emiko, Tobishima, Bailey, Saposi, Kotenouk, Stormy, Sable and his best pals Butch and Lady. He said he would like to hike 15 miles with all of his pals and they would all wear backpacks and carry their food and rafts in the packs. Then they would raft back down the river the 15 miles and at the end of the raft trip, we should have a big cookout with all of his favorite foods. I asked him to clarify "favorite foods" and Butch and Lady started laughing. They said "how much time do you have?" BOL! It turns out Smiley will eat just about anything so we decided to have lamb, chicken, rabbit, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato chips, baked beans and brocolli. Off they went on their hiking/raft trip and me and the other angels got started on the cookout. The cookout was a great success and there were 213 angels there. We ate, sang, swam, played, listened to Smiley tell great stories about his wonderful family and life. Like so many of us, he was rescued from a shelter and was fortunate enough to have a wonderful life filled with love and adventure. We showed him where to sit over Turtle Pond and watch over his family. He really liked that a lot. Then Cookie, Pongo, Elvis, Mercury, Jimmy, Cleo, Rosie, Kirby, Roman, Tinsleigh, Sheba, Miracle and ALL the other angels laid out on husky mountain and watched a thunderstorm in the distance. Smiley looked over at Butch and said "I used to be afraid of those". Butch nudged him with his front paw and said "welcome to paradise...nothing here is scary" and we all fell asleep under the stars.

Read the first line of Muri's diary...he is so right! We animals are a gift that God lets our families have for a short time. My mom thanks God every night for letting her have Sunny, Moon and Bean and hopes she can take care of them for many many years but we never really know how long we will get with them. Muri's life was way too short but it must have been time for him to come join us here at Rainbow Bridge. I heard Carmella already has a huge crush!!!!!!!
