Bio: DunKen is a bit of a klutz and can't land on his front feet when he jumps. He always falls over to one side or the other, always has. He is active tho and runs up and down the fence line chasing squirrels and cats..anything that moves. Latest update, March 15, 2013: DunKen is almost 14 years old now and quite deaf. He is also losing his sight and we are trying to keep that loss from progressing. He is not a candidate for cataract surgery as he has multiple things affecting his vision. He is still a happy little camper though. I have just ordered him a new fleece lined coat for cold weather and he will get some tee shirts for summer because his undercoat has been fast disappearing, poor boy. He does love his sweater that he has already and is looking forward to new clothes.
This is me..DunKen. I don't write much anymore because I mostly sleep and my feets have become so wide that it is hard to hit the right keys. This will be edited by Mum. I am doing fairly well right now and I take medicine for my heart so we are hoping I will enjoy a very happy 15th birthday this year in July. I live just one day at a time though and most of them are happy. Getting old is quite a challenge. I see people's lips move but can't hear what they say no matter hor hard I stare at them! And speaking of staring..I don't see things quite as well as I once did too so I have learned the area of the backyard and I am able to walk it comfortably every day. I really take pleasure in walking slowly around the yard and sniffing everything. My sniffer still works wonderfully! Because I cannot hear Mum uses hand signal to tell me things like sit or stay or lie down I can see enough for that but in the dark I cannot see at all. I am very happy mostly though and I thank my furiends for their gifts and comments. Onward...to July!
Hi everyone! We haven't been here for a while but I just had a birthday yesterday and I want to bark about it! I had the most delicious cake from River Dog Bakery on Kingston Pike. Yum yum! I got a new soft ball with blue tags all over it. (I love tags, esp. on pillows)I also got a crinkle piggy. Jadie and Jimmie have been playing with them. In fact, Mum may have to go buy them each a ball with tags because they both love mine! Anyway, I want to let everyone know that I am happy to have made it to 14 and especially so since I have congestive heart failure and was ill for a while. I take medicine now and feel much better but I can't go for long walks, unless Mum takes my stroller and I get tired real easy. I am a happy doggie though! Life is good!
