Bio: DunKen is a bit of a klutz and can't land on his front feet when he jumps. He always falls over to one side or the other, always has. He is active tho and runs up and down the fence line chasing squirrels and cats..anything that moves. Latest update, March 15, 2013: DunKen is almost 14 years old now and quite deaf. He is also losing his sight and we are trying to keep that loss from progressing. He is not a candidate for cataract surgery as he has multiple things affecting his vision. He is still a happy little camper though. I have just ordered him a new fleece lined coat for cold weather and he will get some tee shirts for summer because his undercoat has been fast disappearing, poor boy. He does love his sweater that he has already and is looking forward to new clothes.
Hi everyone! We haven't been here for a while but I just had a birthday yesterday and I want to bark about it! I had the most delicious cake from River Dog Bakery on Kingston Pike. Yum yum! I got a new soft ball with blue tags all over it. (I love tags, esp. on pillows)I also got a crinkle piggy. Jadie and Jimmie have been playing with them. In fact, Mum may have to go buy them each a ball with tags because they both love mine! Anyway, I want to let everyone know that I am happy to have made it to 14 and especially so since I have congestive heart failure and was ill for a while. I take medicine now and feel much better but I can't go for long walks, unless Mum takes my stroller and I get tired real easy. I am a happy doggie though! Life is good!
DunKen is doing quite well although he can't hear anymore and is going blind. I am going to put him on OccuGlo for his eyes at the urging of the eye vet we went to. Nothing can be done surgically for his eyes. He has too many problems beyond just cataracts but we hope to slow or arrest the progress of the deterioration and retain what little sight he has. It's rough getting old but he is still a happy camper for the most part. He is sleeping now, which he does a lot, or I know he would say hello. :)
