Arrival Story:
I had never had a dog before but it was our first spring in our first house and we'd been bitten by the dog bug after seeing another young couple walking their yellow lab at St. Edward State Park. We were looking around on and saw Bounder, an 8 week old puppy born to a stray Australian Shepherd in foster care. We went to MEOW that afternoon. Bounder was in a playpen outside with his two sisters. The shelter staff let us take the puppies inside to play with them. Bounder promptly peed on their carpet, giving us a glimpse of what the next two months would be like, but we took him home anyway. I held him in my lap on the way home and distinctly remember his little puppy pot belly that we saw when I held him up so he could look out the window.
