Likes: Always being by Mom's side.
Pet-Peeves: Getting his hair and claws trimmed.
Favorite Toy: tennis ball, stuffed hamburger
Favorite Food: Any treat
Favorite Walk: on the farm or at the beach
Best Tricks: Now that his vision is decreasing, he knows what you mean when you tell him that something is in front of him, by his foot, or if it's by his other foot, or behind you, etc.
Arrival Story: It was December 6, 1993 when this adorable, precious 12 week old bundle of love joined our family. He was, of course, tiny and nervous having been brought to a whole new environment, but that didn't last long! Within a couple of hours he was sleeping on my lap on his back, paws everywhere in the air. I guess he felt we were ok. He even used to climb up on my shoulders and curl up around my neck on our favorite chair. I think he liked the warmth. He has been my constant companion and best friend for the last 14 years. We spent his life, running and playing, learning and growing, crying (my part) and comforting (his part). Now as the years pass, he is still happy and loved, secure and mostly healthy (his vision and hearing are beginning to decrease), and every bit the devoted friend he has always been. He has brought such joy into all our lives, he is indeed the most precious addition our family could have ever hoped for.
Bio: Cody has proved to be such an intelligent and astute dog. He is such a easy well behaved dog that I call him the anti-terrier terrier. He hasn't done any of the bad things that I had been so heartily warned about terriers. No chewing, no aggressiveness, no digging. I guess I am an extra lucky westie mom. It seems like we are able to comunnicate as well as 2 humans without any trouble. He quickly learned signs and moves, all on his own, that would display to me exactly what he wants and needs. He seems to know what I want him to do before I even get the chance to say it. It has made our relationship so very easy and fulfilling!
Forums Motto: Save a life, adopt a shelter pet.
''If you want to know who designed the original scrap kits ...PLEASE ASK ME.I am afraid it isnt possible to put all the credits ... BUT I DO HAVE THEM .I MAKE NO CLAIM TO MAKING THE ORIGINAL SCRAPS OF THE KITS ... only to making them up. SOME of the pieces are however of my own making. ''
It was that time again. The dreaded yearly checkup and shots. My dawg! They make you feel like a pin cushion! Then all the pushing and poking and squeezing, sheesh! Well, I got thru it ok, everything looks 100%. Hooray! That says a lot for a 15 year old. He didn't even complain about my weight! He drew some blood too and we're just waiting for those results to come back. He did find that my gums are infected again for some reason. They cleared up after the teeth were cleaned, but now there's an infection again. Now I have pills I have to take twice a day. I hope they don't think I like that idea! Oh well, I guess there's some pitfalls to getting old. The vet told mom that after I'm finished with these pills, he wants her to refill the prescription once a month to keep the infection from coming back. He said if I would let her rinse my gums with antibacterial doggy mouthwash then I won't have to take those pills. I'll just have to think about that! That would me I have to be cooperative...hmmm...we'll see. So I hope that's all I need to see the vet for this year. He's a good man, but the less I see of him, the better.
I was tagged by my good furiend Gucci a couple of days ago. I finally got the chance to play! Many of you are already familiar with our tag games, but just in case your not...you have to answer the questions below and tag 6 furiends to play next.
Ok, here I go!
What is your favorite color for Easter eggs?
Blue
Would you rather be a bunny or a chick?
Bunny, they are adorable. Chickens have twiggy legs! BOL!
How many Easter eggs do you think you'll find when you get to hunt them at your house?
It depends on what yummy scent, if any, that mom rubs on them.
What kind of Easter basket are you hoping for?
I would love one with a bunch of yummy dog treats for me and my brofur, and it would be great if it had some chocolate for mom!
The friends I am tagging are......
Millie
Shooter
Peanut
Smooch the Pooch
Little Teddy
Tessy
OMD!!! I can't believe my eyes! When I looked at my page today I found a dozen beautiful roses...and get this...they are from a secret admirer!!! Yep, that's what I said, a secret admirer! Who would have ever thought that an old pup like me could have a secret admirer? After all, there are sooo many younger, good looking, stronger pups than me out there. Ooo, I wish I knew who it was. They said that I know them and I've talked to them many times... wow, that could be a lot of pups. You know I can't keep my mouth shut. I'm always talking! BOL! I guess I'll just have to wait for more clues. Ooo, such fun! Thank you for the flowers, secret admirer whoever you are!
One the home front, we met a new pup today, hoping that she would be a good addition to our family. Her name is Belle and she's a rat terrier. As it turned out, there was no match there. She wasn't interested in us, and we weren't interested in her. She never even went to mom for a pat on the head or anything. She just didn't seem very warm or furiendly at all. They brought her to our house and when they arrived they had two dogs. We were surprised because we only thought one was coming. The other pup was for another adopter in our area so she was making two trips in one. He was an adorable black pug. He was way more furiendly and we had more fun with him while they were here, but he already had a home waiting. So anyway...Belle continues her search for a new home, and we will just continue to take our time and keep meeting pups until we find one that wants to be with us as much as we want to give them a home.
