Arrival Story:
I wanted to find a dog that would have the same traits as my wonderful Flatcoat Retriever "Vern", but could not find a breeder who wanted to sell one as a pet. With the miracle of the internet, I found Gunther in Canada, and his breeder, Michel Roy was an absolute dream to work with. After a few e-mails and phone calls, Gunther was put on a plane at 6:30AM and arrived at 8:30AM and we have been together 24/7 ever since.
Bio:
Gunther's very first friend, his "cousin" Ollie, a standard poodle, we posted pictures of them playing when he was just a pup, and poor Ollie, after Gunther grew up to be the "Big Dog", and a game of "Ear-tugging" wasn't quite as much fun as he remembered it to be. Gunther and I also enjoy getting together with the members of the Hovawart Club of America, it is full of great people and dogs, we get together twice a year for a show. It is alot of fun, the folks are just great, the shows are very intimate and we always learn new things while sharing our appreciation of the breed. Hovawarts, the perfect package of beauty, brains, and brawn.
