Arrival Story: My dad wanted to get a dog but he didn't know what kind of breed to get. So he went on this site and took a quiz for the best dog for you. He took the quiz a few breeds came up. On of them was the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. We had never heard of them before so we looked into them. We liked the breed and found a breeder in South Carolina. Gracie was the only dog the survive her litter. At the age of 10 months she was put on a plane and was flowen to Colorado. We picked her up at the airport and took her home. When we got Graice she played with our other german shepard Sasha. Gracies first name was Darma. But we had changed it to Gracie on day when she was playing around. There is this small hill next to our house and Gracie had been playing on it. She had ran down it and stopped to sniff a flower put she didn't tell the rest of her body to stop. So she sees her back legs going past her and her still sniffing the flower. She had tumbled down the hill. My dad said that was really graceful. So from that day We called her Gracie.
Bio: Gracie had a few health problems as she gotten older. On of the noticeable one was when she started to have seizures. She was on medicine to help control the seizures. At times she would have more then she normally would so we would take her to the vet. When she had a lot she wasn't able to use her back legs and would have to stay in at the vets for about a week.
Well on October 18th she had a lot of seizures and to go to the vet. She recovered but need some assistance getting around. on October 26 she returned home. The about 5 days after being home her stomach had twisted on her. She was rushed to the vets and they had to do emergency surgery on her. She was fine for about a day. But on Sunday November 2, 2008 she had gotten and infection. The vets said that there was nothing else to do. My dad had her put to sleep that night. We miss her very much and we always will. She was a great dog. She loved being around people and kids. She was a gentle dog. I miss you very much Gracie I will never forget you. You had thought me so many thing. Like how to love other animals and living things. I love you Gracie.

I miss you so much Gracie i really do. I wish I could see you one more day but that would be very selfish of me. Your eyes showed everything of you. You where so gentle you loved me so much and I loved you so much. When you came home from the vets that one time you knocked me over and licked my face. Everyone thought it was really cute. I remember letting you sleep with me on my bed. I would put a blanket on you. But i got harder for you to jump on my bed so i made you one on the floor. you loved it so much. As months went by you where unable to get up the stairs you would get stuck in the middle so i helped you up and down. When you where unable to get up I would sleep downstairs to be with you. We all miss you very much. I showed other people your photos they said you where a good looking dog that indeed you where. I miss you girl very much. Rest in Pease Girl.
Today is one month since Gracie left us. I miss her very much. I look back at the photos and I cry. I wish i could spend one more day with you. I want to give you one last hug and one last kiss on the head.
Its been 23 days now without Gracie. Even though I didn't live with Gracie I loved hearing funny stories about her and Stacey. Whenever I would go see Gracie she would jump all over me. Since she was a puppy she would fallow me every where. She never left my side. When it was hard for her to get up she would still manage to just to go where I was going. Sometimes she would get up and then fall and not be able to get up again. She would start to whine. I would go back and help her and tell her that It was okay. She was a great dog. My favorite thing to do was get a box of trix and pour a bowl for her and a bowl for me. We would eat it together. Sometimes she would eat out of the box. That is one of my favorite memory's of her. I love you and miss you Gracie!
