Arrival Story:
Sally arrived here named Ruby. She was in the pound, found as a stray with another small brown dog who had lived with her. When the pound called her owners, they said they didn't want Ruby back, "Only the cuter small brown dog"! Sally, then known as Ruby, was having issues in the cage at the pound. I went to look at dogs for the rescue, and she seemed very nice to me. I took her to the surprise of the pound, and when she came out of the cage she was pretty much okay with the people there. After getting Sally home, it became apparent that she has serious trust issues with people. She is my shadow, and it even took her almost a month to allow my husband in bed at night. Sally now loves us both dearly, but she still only really trusts me. We are working on her issues, starting with a name change. I can see a lot of changes in her since she arrived here, and I know that one day Sally will be the great dog she was meant to be....well, to everyone else, she already is that great dog for me!
