n Memory of Morgan

I still can't believe that my beloved brother, Morgan, is in Heaven. I remember that day in June 2008 when I was hoping to be adopted at "Dogfest." I saw a woman carrying a Maltese that looked like me! They looked so happy together and I made a wish that I would be in a loving home someday. They stopped and looked at ME!! I was afraid to hope...but I heard the woman say that she wanted to see me! It was love at first sight for me and for them. Of course, you guessed it...."the woman" was my Mommy Linda and the Maltese she was carrying? Morgan, of course!! After filling out an adoption form and a home inspection the next day, I was delivered to my new forever home. I will never forget how welcoming Morgan was to me. He even brought his favorite toy, "snowman" to me! Two months later Holly was adopted and joined our happy family. Eventually our family included our new Daddy Wil and Kodie, a Shetland Sheepdog.

In June 2010 we moved from Cincinnati, Ohio to New Mexico and us "Sweetiepies" and Kodie had so much fun on this trip! I think we stopped at every roadside park from Ohio to New Mexico! And the motels---we loved them!!

Well, so many happy memories and now it is just me, Holly and Kodie. Mommy & Daddy rescued/saved a "rez" dog, Jack in October 2010 but found a loving, forever home for him where he is an "only dog" and has lots of room to run!

We love you, Morgan, and although we miss you terribly, we know that you are in Heaven. One day we will all be re-united---I know that you will come running to welcome us there!

A note on my new brother, Jack

Let me set the record straight for those of you who read Morgan's diary entry! I admit that I was exactly thrilled when Mommy announced, "Guess what? Jack is staying here!" (in that annoying chirping voice of hers). But I love Jack now!! He is a big dog (translation: he is not a Maltese) but oh, my, he had such a sad story of life as a stray on the rez that I was crying!!! Who could not love him?!

Unbelieveable, but he even said that he will listen to my all-time favorites, Dean Martin and Frankie Valli. Are Border Collies from Italy??

So now we are five....I saw a show once on t.v., "Eight Is Enough." I only hope that Mommy never sees that show. I say that FIVE is enough!!!

WOW!! I was so shocked to see that I had been selected as "Diary of the Day"!!! THANK YOU!! I love the comments that I have received....but am not sure how to answer the comments (duh) so I will answer here!

NEW MEXICO!!

Hi, everyone!

It's Nico here and have I got news....well, not exactly news as Morgan has already told you. But ANYWAY, we are now living on the Navajo reservation in Newcomb, New Mexico!

I really enjoyed the trip out--I love to ride in a car. Mmmm....I really love to SLEEP in a car! I am too short to see out! But at last we arrived in New Mexico. We had to stay a week in Gallup while the electricity and water was turned on at our mobile home in Newcomb. We stayed at LaQuinta and they are so nice--very dog friendly!

When we first came out to Newcomb, my first thought was "Where is the grass?" But I am used to it now. Mommy keeps us right by her when we have to go out...we have't seen any snakes or coyotes but not taking ANY chances!! Then my second thought was "Do they play Dean Martin songs on the radio out here?" So far I haven't heard Dino!!! BUT Frankie Valli was in Albuquerque a couple weeks ago so there is hope for us Italian guys.

We are looking forward to lots of hikes out here....we are going to the mountains for a picnic this week!!

My Summer

Hi, everyone!

I hope that your summer has been good!! It's been cool here but now it's hot. I love it warm! Holly & I love to lay in the sun but Morgan likes the shade! Mommy & Daddy bought a canopy and chairs, table and a grill so we have been outside alot with them.

I had to go to the vet this summer and he said that my teeth needed cleaning....well, two weeks ago he cleaned my teeth. Plus pulled some teeth!! Now I have fresh breath! Mommy took good care of me when I got home---she held me all evening as I didn't feel good. But I was fine by the next morning!

Mommy has been off all summer so that has been wonderful...but she goes back to the school library on August 18th. But we live so close to the school that she comes home every day for lunch (just to see us!!). And of course, Daddy is retired so he is here all day with us.

Well, better run outside now!! Take care and enjoy the summer!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope that you all had a great Christmas and Happy New Year celebration!!

First of all, thank you for the wonderful Happy Birthday wishes!!!! I appreciate each and every one!!!!

And next I would like to ask for forgiveness for not being on Dogster for quite awhile!! Our New Year's Resolution is to get back on Dogster again!!! Let me explain: Mommy started working back at the school library full-time....and then SHE GOT MARRIED!!! That's right....she and our new Daddy Wil got married on November 22, 2008. Go to my brother Morgan's page for all the details!! But we all just love Daddy....especially Morgan & Holly. But me....well, I am a Mommy's boy!

We will be putting new photos up soon....again please forgive us and thank you for being patient with us!!! We sure miss our Dogster activities!! We told Mommy, "If you are too busy for Dogster, then you are TOO BUSY!!" She agreed!

There's a new dog in our family....Meet Holly!!!

Hi!

I am so happy---Morgan & I are proud to announce that Mommy has adopted another doggie......a Chihuahua named Holly!!!!!! What a surprise for us!!! It didn't take us long to get acquainted and now its like we have always been a family. I guess because Morgan & I both know what it is like to be without a forever home, unwanted and unloved. So we wanted to welcome Holly with open paws!

She is really cute and she is good at playing ball too!! Morgan & I are perfect gentlemen and always let her get to the ball she wants first! We really love her already!!

What a summer.....I got adopted by Mommy on June 15 and joined Morgan. We have had the best times this summer....stroller rides, ball games, walks, car rides etc. etc. And now this: a new little sister on August 8th!!!

An Exciting Week!!!

Well, what a week this has been for me!! Mommy loves to take long walks and she loves to take us.....but we get tired!! So Mommy got on the internet and ordered me & Morgan a pet stroller!! Look at the picture of us in it on my page!!! I just love the color: raspberry!!!!!
We just love going for walks in it....Mommy zips us up so we can't jump out (as if we would!) and also to keep bugs out. And away we go!!! Its so roomy.....we sit side by side and look out at everything!!!
Ah, what a life!!!!!! Now I can't wait to go for our walk (or rather RIDE) every evening!

Because I am a puppy mill rescue, I was very interested when Mommy told me about "Baby." She is a toy poodle who is also a puppy mill rescue! Her Mommy, Jana Kohl, wrote a book about Baby.....its called A RARE BREED OF LOVE. Mommy went to Joseph-Beth Bookstore here in Cincinnati yesterday where Baby was making a personal appearance!!! Mommy got to meet Baby....and even got kissed by her!!! Mommy was so excited!! She will put a picture of Baby on my page. We recommend this book to everyone.....and please get the message out to your representatives & senators etc. to put an end to the cruelty of puppy mills!!!!! Mommy is very upset about this......and believe me, I KNOW how bad they are. I once was in one and if kind people hadn't saved me, I would have been put to sleep because I was considered too old. Please get & read this book.....and get the word out to everyone!!!

Hi, everyone!!!!

I am so happy!!!! My big brother, Morgan, is the DOGSTER DOG OF THE DAY FOR FRIDAY, JULY 4, 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't be happier.....Morgan IS the most wonderful doggie and the best big brother!!! When I came to live with Mommy & Morgan, I was worried that he would try to "boss" me and be the ALPHA dog!!! But I couldn't have been more wrong!! From the first moment, he welcomed me and played with me....and he is such a patient teacher. I just try to follow his example and so my adjustment in my new forever home went PERFECT!!!!!

Morgan could be the goodwill ambassador for Maltese....he just loves every person and every doggie!!! Believe me, I live with him and he really is the greatest!!!

So.....Morgan, I love you so much!!!! And now, bring on the Frosty Paws and let's celebrate!!!!!!!!!!! Morgan, cousin Shiloh & I wish that all of you could celebrate with us!!!!
