Arrival Story:
Well, when my husband and I got married we knew we wanted a dog for sure but wanted to wait for a fenced in backyard, more room, etc. However, I didn't want to wait that long-do you know how expensive it is just for a chain link fence? My heart was just aching for a fuzzy little face to love. Anyway, one day my friend Ashly called and told me that her dad had found a pregnant beagle and she had nine puppies and they were ready to go! So I went to her house and saw the sweetest most roly poly little dog in a beautiful honey color. I couldn't leave without her, but thought I should ease Scott into the idea. So that night, Ashly brought her over fresh from a bath and with her own carrier (Ashly really wanted me to have this puppy--Thank you Ashly!) and Scott fell in love. It wasn't hard! That night I was so worried that Scout would miss her momma and sisters, in fact she stayed under the kitchen table and wouldn't come out. I was so upset, but Scott said we should go to bed and let her get used to this new house. The next morning I woke up and she was beside the bed looking up at us and waggin her tail. She liked us! And the rest is history.

Bio:
Scout is a downright awesome dog. She loves everything and everybody and no one can come in the house without giving her some love. She spends her day on the couch looking out the window, making long distance phone calls, and listening to Pearl Jam and Weezer on the stereo really loud. So, we're currently thinking of getting her a little sister to keep her busy.***UPDATE***Scout has a new sister!!! Her name is Lucy and her current fave past-time is trying to dangle from Scout's ears with her tiny razor sharp teeth....Scout adores her. *see her link below*

Okay, so I thought I was a little lonely...I thought I was bored. I thought it would be nice to have a companion.
WELL I WAS WRONG!!!!!
Lucy's okay...if she has a rawhide in her mouth, but otherwise? Oh, Lord.
Yes, that's right, mom and dad brought home another dog. Right now she's just crazy, I mean what's going through her head when she starts chewing on that Gamecube wire?!?! I know that's one of Dad's favorite things, I know better and never touched it even once! But Lucy just doesn't have any respect. I guess I'll have to teach her. Actually they keep telling me whenever she does something bad, "teach her Scout....tell her the hallway is not her private peeing grounds!"
I'll try I guess. Although it is pretty funny to see them chase her around like crazy...

I hate January....

I know I haven't written anything for a while, but really...is anyone keeping tabs on my diary? I don't think so. Why do we have January? I think its the most depressing month! I believe the only worthwhile holiday is the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, who is a wonderful man to celebrate...but I doubt he would mind if we moved his birthday to February and then we could skip January altogether! Besides, he was such a man of Love (as in universal Love) that I think he would like sharing his birthday with Valentine's Day. Oh well, who's gonna listen to a dog?
Lately I've been having nosebleeds and my vet says it must be my allergies. Its not alot of bleeding but enough so that when I sneeze (which is often) it looks like something out of a scary movie. Mom doesn't mind, she knows I can't help it and the Benadryl helps. She wraps it in a little piece of cheese and its just like a treat! I LOOOOVE the Benadryl! But if any of you know of any reason why my nose would bleed every now and then, let me know. My doctor said my sinuses may be dry and he couldn't see a polyp or anything but dogs noses are very intricate. I think that he means that we're a higher species. Which I already know. hehe.
Anyway, here's to January being almost over and now onto Valentine's Day!!! So, who wants to be my Valentine? aRf! take a number!! lOl

its beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Aroo! Merry Christmas! I'm so excited...Mom's been putting up Christmas decorations and there have been all sort of interesting things to sniff! BUT she brought home this hat. THIS HAT. Yes, there are horrible pictures of me in this ridiculous stupid hat! First of all its too small. Second, the ear holes aren't in the right place so my beautiful ears have to be hidden-plastered to the side of my head! How embarrassing! But I got lots of treats for it so I guess its worth it. I guess.
Right now, we are dogsitting for a good friend who's in the hospital having a baby. They have a pug dog named Millie that will be staying with us until her momma has her baby. I wasn't sure about Millie at first..she was making this funny sound that sounded like growling...but later I realized that she was just excited. She's calmed down now so she doesn't make that noise as much. Thank goodness Mom and Daddy are still treating me like I'm the Number 1 dog in the house...I heard mom say something about me being the Alpha dog, so I have to be fed first and stuff like that. But I don't want my food, I want Millie's food! I sneak a couple bites when she's not looking though. Tasty!
I hope everyone has a warm and snuggly Christmas! And remember all the doggies and kitties that don't have homes! Make a donation to your local animal shelter!
