Favorite Walk: We are learning how to walk on a leash. It's a work in progress.
Best Tricks: being cute!
Arrival Story: I have been looking for a female Great Pyrenees puppy for some time, but had not been able to find one close enough to not have to have her shipped. Well, I was in Gatlinburg on vacation and decided to check my local papers online since we had been gone a week. I quickly discovered that when you search Mobile's classifieds, you actually search all of Alabama's papers. Well, there it was. There was an ad for 9 week old Great Pyrenees puppies in Birmingham. We go right through Birmingham on the way home. I called the people, got directions, and on the way home (2 days later) stopped to check out the puppies. I guess you could say I brought home one great souvenir.
Bio: My little girl was living on a goat farm in Cleveland, AL before I brought her home. She was dirty from being in the field, but I wrapped her up in a beach towel and held her all the way home. Harley wanted to play with her and Hershey was ignoring her. This 9 week old puppy slept all the way home (almost 8 more hours after we took a wrong turn and got lost). She was so good. When we got home, she met our cows, and got her first bath!! OMD! Bathing a cat is easier!! She doesn't like baths AT ALL!! We have a cat carrier that is fairly large, so we cleaned that out, put in a small blanket and stuffed animal for her to sleep in that night. She took to it immediately. She loves her crate. She slept through the night, only barking once to let us know she needed to go potty.
One year ago yesterday you became my little girl. This past year has been challenging at times, but I forever thankful that God choose me to be your mommy. You are a sweet little girl who I love dearly. I look forward to watching you grow into a wonderful girl. No matter what comes, I will always love you.
Today is my number one happy birthday!! Last night I had my very first happy birthday party! I found out that I get presents...cool!! I got a stuffed butterfly from Harley, a stuffed ice cream cone from Hershey, and a soft blankey with butterflies from Mommy and Daddy!!
At the beginning of this year, I had no idea what special little delivery I would receive half way through. You were born on March 30, and on June 9, you became my very special little girl.
It had been 5 years since I had a puppy in the house, and you made us all more active. You are a very smart little girl and never cease to amaze me at what you are able to figure out. You surprised us all when you opened the front door on your own.
I love watching everything from your point of view. Everything is brand new to you. Seeing everything through your eyes is like seeing it all for the first time. Sometimes these new things scare you, but I try to let you know that you are safe. I hope to earn the trust that I know you put in me.
I know that 2009 will be a year of continued discovery, and I look forward to walk every step of it with you.
I hope you know that you have your forever home and your family. I hope you know how much you are loved by your entire family.
