My mom and dad just got back from their honeymoon and mom is starting a new business...she is making gourmet dog treats! My brother Bogie and I get to be taste testers!
Mom is using all natural ingredients: salmon, cottage cheese, peanut butter... the kitchen smells great and when mom sees me peeking she gives me a treat! They are delicious! We are going to sell them for christmas.
My brother Bogie is almost 1 year old! Mom has been training Bogie to sit, stay and do high 5!!! He is doing awesome and he is almost potty trained! I am so happy that he is catching on, we didn't want to put him in a crate so I had a long talk with him about going potty outside and now he is waiting for mom and dad to let him out!
Now I have to start planning his birthday pawty with mom, she had one for me last year too! We are going to invite all of our friends and share our new gourmet treats with them.

Yesterday was our first "camping picnic" of the summer. We went to Pymatuning State Park for my dad's graduation pawty- he got his masters degree! Woof Woof Daddy! .... Mom packed our life vests but there were a lot of weeds in the lake - so mom didn't let us go in! ... but Bogie jumped in (he was slimey and smelled funny afterward).
My aunt let us eat some ice cream to cool us down - mom said a tiny bit was ok. Then we chased our human cousins around the cabin and Bogie kept running in the woods. We were afraid of ticks so mom yelled at him to come back...
Needless to say - she gave both of us a bath last night with our tick and flea shampoo (Bogie smells a lot better)....
I had fun on our "camping" trip and mom is taking us to Erie next week for work meetings... we are staying in a hotel and are going to see Presque Isle State Park.
In the mean time we are interviewing a new dog nanny, tonight, to watch us during the day.. I hope she likes to play!

Hey everyone, it’s Nina, I’m a 16 month Yorkshire terrier. I love to run, chase my brother Bogie (5 month Yorkie) and hide my treats in the couch.
This is my second summer and I forgot how hot it can get. Mom keeps the air conditioner on for me while she is away at work. She doesn’t put us in a kennel so I am the queen of the house while she is away. I make sure that all of my treats are hidden in the couch and chase my brother who is always carrying my leopard print bone.
Mom also puts ice cubes in my water to keep it fresh and cool. I don’t like to take walks when it’s this hot out so we walk in the early morning and late evening when it’s a little cooler.
When we are beat from playing chase in our fenced in yard we sit on our porch steps with mom and eat our pooch pops (I like the cheese and my brother likes beef).
Summer Safety Tips:
If you like to fish with your dad at the lake like I do – ask your parents to get you a lifejacket. Mine is pink with white polka dots, this will keep me safe while I chase the fish.
Make sure that you wear doggles if you decide to go on a speed boat to keep the water out of your eyes.
If you really don’t like the heat like my brother, hide under mom’s umbrella while she sprays you with cool water.
My mom likes to keep us fashionable but in the summer it gets a little warm so she puts our hair in top knots and keeps light tanks on us that protect our bellies from the boiling sun.
Don’t forget about your first aid kit with special tweezers for ticks especially if you plan on camping this year.
Campfires are great but remember: no s’mores – we can’t eat chocolate!
