I DID IT!!!

Hello pups!

For those of you who have been following my weight loss challenge, I just have one thing to say:

I DID IT!!! WOOOHOOOOOO!!!!

When I was adopted last June, I weighed over 12 lbs and needed to lose at least 5 pounds. I've been saying that I needed to lose half of myself and, well, it's done! I now weigh 6.5 wonderfully light pounds! :D

I feel like a brand new maltese! I am much more active and I feel great.

I would like to offer a word of encouragement for those of you who are living with a dreaded diet: don't give up!

Slim & Trim, Here I Come!

Hello everyone!

Well, I got some more good news yesterday! Grandma took me to see the dogtor to have me weighed again. Well, it turns out that I lost some more weight! YIIIPPPEEEEE!!! :D He said I now weigh 8.3 lbs. Isn't that wonderful?! :) Mommy says she is very proud of me for sticking to my diet (not that I really have a choice! BOL!).

Starting weight: 11.24 lbs
Current weight: 8.3 lbs
Target weight: 5 lbs

Highs and Lows...

Hello everyone!

Well, it was my birthday on October 1st and boy did I have fun! :D I turned 9 years old, but I feel like a 9 month old pup! Heeeheeeheeee! Mommy and Grandma sang Happy Birthday to me when I got up. I never had anyone sing to me before! And then, I got a surprise; well, we all got a surprise actually. We got a BIG dollop of baby food on our breakfast! Lamb, YUMMY! :p I got to play with Mommy all day and I had a blast... right up until I had to take a bath. WHAT?! A bath on my birthday?! Well, let's just say I was NOT thrilled... Oh well, at least I was handsome! BOL!

I went to see the ofth... the optfs... *sigh*... the eye dogtor a few days ago. ;) My regular dogtor thought he saw cataracts in my eyes and Mommy wanted to know what was going on with my peepers. Well, as it turns out, I really do have caracts in both eyes. According to Dr. Warren, in about one year, I will become blind if I don't have cataract surgery. Mommy promised me that I won't lose my eyesight. I was glad to hear that; life is too much fun now to miss anything!

The Pounds Are Vanishing...

Hello everyone!

Mommy took me to visit the vet yesterday to see if I was still on track with my... *shudder*... diet (I hate that word!). I'm glad I went because I received a wonderful surprise: I lost almost a whole other pound since my last weigh-in on July 28th! WOOOHOOOOOO!!! Mommy and Grandma thought I was getting faster and more agile in the last few weeks; I guess having the extra weight off helped! Heeheeheeee!!! I'm doing great so far and I have no plans of quitting (just don't tell Mommy!) ;)

Current weight: 8.94 lbs
Target weight: 5 lbs

I'm Melting, meeeellllltiiiinnnngggg! ;)

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to add a quick update about my foray into weight loss. Mommy took me to the vet a few days ago to have me microchipped (yeah, like I would really run away from her!) and had me weighed at the same time to see my progress. Well, as it turns out, I now weigh 9.94 lbs! YAY! The diet is still working! Sure, I'd love to wake up and have lost all of the excess weight overnight, but I'll take what I can get. So, here my current status:

Starting weight: 11.24 lbs
Current weight; 9.94 lbs
Target weight: 5 lbs

I'm gonna make it!

This is the way we lose our teeth, lose our teeth...

Hello everyone!

Please excuse my temporary lisp; I just had my very first dental yesterday and, well, it has left me with fewer appendages than I care to admit. I lost 6, yes count them, 6 teeth! :( The dogtor said they were in such bad shape that he had no choice but to take them out. He even said that at least one of them almost fell out on its own. Can you believe it?!

I never had a dental in my life and I will be 9 years old in October, sooooooo you can figure how bad my breath was. YUCK! Mommy says I could knock her over just by kissing her! BOL! But now this morning, I have clean choppers and a non-toxic kiss! Heeheeheeeeee!!! I'm still in a bit of pain from the tooth extraction, but I'm already back to my playful and goofy self! :D

So Many Thrills!

Hello everyone!

My name is Bel Vey and I am thrilled! After spending my life as a stud dog, I now have a family of my very own and, as an added bonus, I get to make tons of pals on Dogster and Catster! What more could a pup ask for? :D *grinning widely, tail wagging*

I originally came to my new home as a foster to lose weight. You see, I am very overweight (I should weigh 5-6 lbs and I came in weighing 11.24 lbs!). So, the plan was to be fostered here and be put on a diet to I could lose the excess weight. What I (or Mommy) wasn't planning on was that Mommy would fall in love with me and I with her.

So, I now have a Mommy, a brother, a Grandma and 6 cousins! WOOHOOOO!!! I am one happy pup! :D

OH! I almost forgot: Mommy took me to the vet two days ago and it seems the diet is working: I now weigh 10.28 lbs (that means I lost almost a pound since 3 weeks)! The next thing you know, I'll be slim and trim! BOL!
