Likes: Sleeping in her bed and eating her food. The sound of the fridge door opening. 25/11/08 She loves custard and will not settle until her hooman dad gives her two teaspoons of custard every night.
Pet-Peeves: 25/11/08 She's not keen on being woken up in the mornings.
Favorite Toy: She's too old to play.
Favorite Food: Chicken, and custard, of course!
Favorite Walk: She manages a few wobbly steps in the garden. Update 25/11/08 Sweetie is now able to run around the garden. Considering how weak and frail she was when we first got her, it's a miracle.
Best Tricks: No tricks for this little darling, although, she does like to head-butt her pillows. Update 25/11/08 Sweetie now rolls from side to side on her back. She also loves to scratch her back against the bottom of the stairway.
Arrival Story: When I saw this little sweetheart I knew she was a special gift from my angel-boy Mr. Spud. So, on 6th June 2008 we adopted her. Unfortunately, found as a starving stray, nothing was known of her past or her age. At a guess I'd say she's a grand little lady of say 10 - 14 years young.
I've chosen her birth date as being twelve years ago, the 6th June, the day we adopted her. God willing, she will celebrate many more birthday years with us.
Bio: A year ago on the 6th June, this hunched-backed skeletal little girl was almost at death's door. With rotting teeth, a matted coat and weak legs, she wasn't able to stand for a minute or more. In all honesty, we feared she'd soon be making her way to the rainbow bridge. Nonetheless, we wanted her!!
On the 6th June Sweetie will have been with us for a whole year. It's been a struggle but our perseverance has paid off. Besides gaining a good deal of weight, she can now dash about like a young lady. Granted, she does come a cropper every so often when her legs give in. However, she's come out of her shell and, instead of sleeping day and night, she regularly honours us with her company. Sadly, she is still not able to raise her head (the vet seems to think she'd abused at some time.) I doubt very much we'll ever hear a woof out of her either. She does love to grunt though!
We vowed when we got Sweetie that whatever time she had, she would be kept comfortable, be deeply loved and taken care of. Miracles do happen, you know and something tells me this little darling is going to be around for a lot longer than we could ever have hoped for.
Bless her!
ON THE 27th OCTOBER 2009 our precious Sweetie slipped away
and journeyed to the Bridge.
Sweet girl, your daddy and I are heartbroken. We love and miss you so very much. R.I.P. little darling.

I look up and I see God
I look down and see my dog.
Simple spelling GOD, same word backwords DOG.
They would stay with me all day.
I'm the one who walks away.
Both of them just wait for me and dance at my return with glee.
Both love me no matter what, divine God and canine mutt.
I take it hard each time I fail but God forgives, Dog wags his tail.
God thought up and made the dog, dog reflects a part of God.
I'v seen love from both sides now, it's everywhere, amen, bow wow.
I look up and I see God, I look down and see my Dog
And in my human frailty, I can't match their love for me.
Our little angel girl,
No words can express how much we love and miss you, precious Sweetheart, and not a day passes that we don't think of you or look at your photograph.
Be happy and free munchkin, and remember you will be forever in our hearts.
Mum and Dad.
