Likes: Sam was a mommy's boy and he was happiest just sitting on my lap or sleeping on my pillow. He was very protective of his family. Pet-Peeves: He really didn't have any. Favorite Toy: Sam always had to have a little rubber hedgehog. We replaced it many times over the years but it HAD to be a hedgehog. It was the only toy he would play with and especially liked to fetch it. Favorite Food: Sam loved everything, but really loved cheese. Favorite Walk: We used to walk in a field behind our house where Sam could go off leash. He loved it. Best Tricks: Other than having a wonderful singing voice, Sam really didn't do any tricks but was perfectly obedience trained. There was nothing he wouldn't do and never needed a leash. His "heel" was perfect. Arrival Story: Sam was our very first dog. We adopted him through a shelter. They called us because they knew we were looking for a poodle and someone had called them giving up one. So we actually picked him up at the person's house. They had two poodles (one had already been adopted) and they just "didn't have time for them anymore". So poor Sam, at 7 years old, lost not only his human family but the brother he had grown up with. We hope the love we gave him made up for that . Bio: We lost Sam to a combination of old age and kidney failure at age 14. We had to have him euthanized and my husband and I both cried like babies. He was such a great dog.
