Sitting in the recliner in front of the bay window watching the neighborhood. Circling the big tree out back for hours while he monitors the squirrel activity in it. Laying on his back in the big man's recliner with all fours up in the air!

Doesn't like someone blowing on his ears.

Arrival Story:
Hubby saw him on a pitbull rescue site. He was being listed by an independent rescuer. Hubby was concerned about his welfare and wanted him to come live with us. He wanted to make sure that no one would ever hurt Buddy again. So, we drove the six hour round trip to bring him home.

Buddy's beginning story is a sad one so much like many other pitbull stories. Several caring people rescued him from his original owners because the owners were beating him with a shovel. They cared for him and then found him a promising happy forever home. Sadly, this was not going to be the case. Several months after Buddy went to live in his new home, he ended up in an emergency clinic because he had "fallen" off of a 3rd story balcony!! Two of this poor baby's legs were badly broken, and partially crushed from his traumatic accident. The front leg was so badly crushed that they feared it might have to be amputated. His new "owner" didn't want to pay for the surgeries that he would need to have in order to fix his legs. Buddy was saved by a very caring vet tech who could not let this boy leave this world without knowing love and trying to give him a chance at a good life. She paid for the several surgeries that it took so that this courageous boy could walk again. Buddy pulled through his surgeries and physical therapy and did/is doing excellent. He does have a limp, and tires out a little faster than other dogs. He'll have to be closely monitored for issues such as arthritis as he gets older. Our vet is concerned with how he'll do with the cold winter weather. This will be his first winter since the "accident." Through all the hardships he has never lost his loving personality and is such a trooper. Buddy is so full of life and hasn't let any of his ordeal change his happy spirit or his love of people. We're so lucky to have brought him into our home. He is such a silly and goofy guy. He keeps us in stitches through all of his antics and is such a loving guy. Update: Shortly after Buddy came to live with us, we put him on Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplements and we're thrilled to say that he has done really well the last couple of winters. We can hardly notice his limp anymore! My Secret Admirer sniffed by to see me today! Woo hoo!!! That's so cool!

Here's what they wrote to me, "It's been well over 2 years since I told you how much I think of you. You certainly look like a marshmallow wrapped in muscles! licks and hugs, your secret admirer"

I still don't know who it is, but I received a Rosette from them on September 19th 2009 and want to say, yet again, "Thank You" to whomever sent it to me. Since I don't know who gave me this gift and can't thank you personally I sure hope that you'll be sniffing by again soon and see my message to you. :-)

Licks & Hugs,

Buddy Lee

You’re always very special
And you should know today
That you are wished the nicest things
That life can bring your way
