I intended to get a dog, since I moved into a house that year. I did not intend to get a Dalmatian, but saw Patch and 2 other females (his sisters) at a local pet store. They were sold to the store by a breeder who promised the store manager (a friend of the breeder) she could have some for the store. I wanted a male, and Patch was banging his head off the top of the crate he was in. He def' wanted out of there. So, I asked to see him and that was that. Once he was out, there was no putting him back. He was sooo happy to be out of that pen, I could not resist getting him. I had NO idea what I was in for. I def' learned all about the challenges of raising a Dal, but would do it all again. He turned 12 in June of 2006, and shortly there after was diagnosed with cancer. I had to say good-bye to him in September of 2006. He was a great companion for more than 12 years!! I will miss him very much, and never forget what a great guy he was and how happy he made it to come home after work.
