Us pups up here in New England want to wish all of your pups a very, very happy Thanksgiving filled with lots of nice turkey. While the vets see more dogs with intestional upsets on Black Friday than any other day, Mom wants everyone to know it's not the turkey that is the villian!!! Turkey by itself is good for dogs... it is a safe, mild meat (unless you are allergic to it!!!) The problem comes with the rest of the Thanksgiving dinner. Worst of all is that great tasting fatty turkey skin. Man, is that stuff good, but, man is that stuff hard for us to digest and it really strains our pancreas. And, also a problem is the gravy and the stuffing, for the same reasons. Most of the veggies are okay, especially the sweet potatoes and the brocolli. But, watch out for the sauces on the veggies. A small piece of roll or bread won't hurt, but be light on the butter, please. As for dessert... skip that in favor of another piece of turkey!!!! And, you better stay away from the wine or you will be whining with a big headache.
Another thing to remember, watch where your parents put those turkey bones! Cooked turkey bones splinter really easily and can puncture your digestive system. Also, it is possible you could choke on them!!! If either of those things happen, you will be spending Black Friday visiting with your veterinarian and your pawrents will be angry... moms cuz they would rather spend the time and money on Black Friday specials and dads cuz they wanna watch all that football!!!
Soo, let's all go out and pawty hearty... but not too hearty!!! Happy Turkey day to everyone!

Wow, Mom was really out of it this morning. She came to work okay, well, only slightly late... seems there is still a problem with that alarm clock. This morning she kept hearing birds singing, so she though it was just time for sunrise and not time to get up, so she went back to sleep. Just as she was dozing off, she realized that stupid alarm was doing the bird singing... hmmm, she'll have to try another sound tonight, I guess!
Anyway, back to work. She came into the kennel and let the three poodles out into the daycare yard. Then, while Julie cleaned their kennel Mom ran home to get the babies. As she came by the daycare yard, she spoke to the three poodles. She came in, put the babies in their pen, went into the kennel and let me out. As I was racing to the daycare yard door, I glanced over and noticed the door to the store was still open... so was the door to the grooming room. Darn it, I was running sooo fast that I couldn't switch direction in time. Anyway, as Mom was coming up to the door she noticed what looked like some legs thru the crack at the bottom of the door... she looked out the window and suddenly remembered those three poodles were out there. Did you guys know I HATE poodles, especially white ones????
Sooo, Mom lassos me with "the leash", and picks me up and screams for Julie to come let the poodles in. Good luck, Mom... they are gonna jump up on ME and I am gonna EAT THEM FOR BREAKFAST! And, I would have, too, if I only didn't have to pee so bad!!! But, I did, so I ran right out the door and didn't even look at them! Lucky Mom, huh?

This morning I was pretty nice. Mom was sleeping late so Laurie had to clean me and feed me. She apparently didn't get the "give Lukie less food" message so I was pretty happy. No pranks for her!
Later I was pleasantly surprised with a visit from my first Mom, who is now Kiwi's mom. She drove all the way from CT just to visit with me!!! Pretty nice, huh? We went along outside with my daughter Hilda, but Mom said NO PHOTOS of me cuz my coat is still holey. But, if you look at my photos you will find a new one... I was trying to tell Kiwi's Mom that my food dish was not only empty, but it was totally upside down.... can you imagine... had there been food in it, it would have been trapped under the dish!!! Did either of them pick up the dish to make sure I had no food trapped under it? Nope, neither one even opened my gate! Mom said I could use that one photo cuz you can't really see my holey coat... most of the holes are on the top part.
Soo, after a nice visit I retired back to my kennel where I howled away the rest of the day.
