Arrival Story:
I had a dog named Benji that I got when I was in 1st grade. I loved that dog so much and he died in my junior year of college. I was so devastated. I wanted another dog, but I always lived in apartments. I bought my first home this summer and immediately started my search. So, almost to the day of the 10th anniversary of Benji's death, Penelope came home. I searched for month's to find a reputable breeder to adopt from. I didn't want to get a dog from a pet store or puppy mill and found a nice experienced breeder who in only 20 minutes away.

Penelope came home in October of 2004. She has been an absolute joy and is doing really well with her training and housebreaking. I chose her because while the other dogs ran over to the breeder, she stayed over by us. She is a cutie, that is for sure.

Last Saturday, I got to go to the Pug Meetup at South Park. My mom and dad didn't realize how far away it was and they had to stop for their morning coffee, so we were over a half-hour late. When we got there all the pugs were already playing and they looked hot. I decided that I would let them rest a little bit so I chased around all the big dogs in the park. I have to let them know who is boss. My old friend Liu Liu was there and I made some new friends named Baxter and Angel. There were some other pugs there, too, but they seemed scared and jumped on their dad's lap.
I stayed there for a long time, but then I had to go home. I didn't want, too, so I peed on the floor three times that day. Then, I felt bad so I haven't peed in the house since. Aren't I an angel?

I went to the hot dog dam dog park in Frick Park this week and had the greatest time. I love the creek there, because I love to splash through the water running from bank to bank. This time I didn't realize how deep the water was and I jumped in. I started to sink but kicked my legs and started to swim. I knew I was fine, but mom, being the worrier that she is, jumped in the creek to save me. The water came up to her waist. She scooped me out of the water, but I wasn't done playing. I ran over to the shallow end and splashed and splashed. I had the best time. The best part about it was that I was covered in mud. That was the best! Mom didn't look too happy to be wet, but I know she only jumped in because she loves me.
I had the greatest night! Too bad I had to get a bath when I got home!

I just spent four days at the kennel and just got back yesterday. I was so excited to see mom and dad even though I had a great time playing with the other dogs at the kennel. I was so exhausted that I fell asleep at 8pm. I couldn't even walk upstairs to the bedroom, becuase I was soooo tired. I am happy to be back at home with Pilar and Mateo. I bet they missed me terrorizing them!!!
