Leave a bone for Kayin and Luna

Nicknames: Kayin: Pembroke Corgi (aka- fatty, fluffy, big boy) Luna: Lab/Basset/golden mix (aka- luna bear, polar bear, tuna fish, labby face)

Quick Bio:
Likes: These two love to play "keep-away" and "who can hold each other's back leg in their mouth the longest," grooming each other, sleeping together, stealing toys

Pet-Peeves: Luna always wants to sleep while Kayin always wants to play, what ever Luna has Kayin wants (and vice versa)

Favorite Toy: EACH OTHER! and rawhides of course, plush toys that are filled with stuffing, anything that squeaks, and rope toys.

Favorite Food: They like ANYTHING! Especially bacon and steak.

Favorite Walk: The James Island Dog Park! (James Island, SC) and Luna's backyard

Best Tricks: These two can sit, high-five, and speak on command simultaneously!! (see indiv. pages for other tricks)

Arrival Story: The owner of Luna (bassador that looks like a yellow lab puppy) is Kevinof Charleston, SC. The owner of Kayin (Corgi) is Anna of Columbia, SC. Kevin and I have been a couple for almost 3 years. I bought Kayin at 8 wks old (Dec. 4th '03) from a breeder in Columbia, SC. I had waited 2 years to get a Corgi. Luna on the other hand became a pet almost by accident. She was one of 6 puppies and the only short white pup of the litter. Her litter spent their first 12 weeks outside in a play pin with little shelter. Kevin and I rescued 3 puppies (including Luna) from the litter and had decided to take them to the Humane Society the next morning. They all had "worm bellies" and looked somewhat malnourished. While the pups played in the back yard, Luna chose to stare at use through the sliding glass door (much like the picture of her and Kayin on the left). Kevin was not looking for a dog at the time but Luna, as you can see, was too cute to resist. She's been our little Luna Bear ever since.

Bio: As a puppy Kayin was the best I'd ever seen. He was crate trained by 8 wks, and housebroken by 12 wks with only a few accidents, and had all the basic training tricks down pat with a few showy ones to spare by 5 months old. We thought that because Corgi's were one of the smartest breeds and easiest to train/housebreak that Luna would fall short of our expectations. It turns out Miss Luna is the best dog of all! She's great with other dogs, never has an accident (since we've had her!), extremely cuddly (while in the house anyway), has the face and body size of a 10-week-old lab puppy, a basset hound bark (but not unless we ask), never bites, and naturally polite! I've never seen a better dog... especially not one that was FREE!
