Arrival Story:
Ella was one of eight females in a litter of 11. It was really hard to choose because they all looked so much alike and were really active and friendly. I finally told the breeder that I was looking for a running partner and an agility dog and preferred on that might end up on the smaller size. He selected two and we played with both and ended up with Ella. She's a quick study and fetches and comes when called. Ella sits on command and is working on down--all this at 7 weeks. We've bonded quickly and Ella and my younger occicat, Mingus have become good buddies and have invented all sorts of games. Ella has installed herself and her toys inside the lower tunnel of the cat condo. I think that space will fit for about one or two more weeks.

Kayaking Vizsla

Last week I got to go kayaking for the first time. I wore my new life jacket even though I'm a good swimmer. I think Mom made me wear it so I'd have a handle on my back.

I kept trying to drink the lake and then decided that it was better to just go along for the ride. Someday I'm going to get to go on a river trip, but I've got to get better at sitting in the boat.

Regular member of the pack

I'm almost 10 weeks old now and I'm a regular member of the pack! I think I fall somewhere below Mom, Dad and Oz the old occicat, but Mingus (the 2 year old Occi) and I are still trying to decide who's next. We're having a great time deciding--chasing, rolling, kissing and biting. I do get the pick of my spot in the big king sized bed after Mom and Dad. It's great!

I've got a couple of pup pals in my neighborhood play group. My favorite is Wicker who lives across the street. We chase and play together every night in the big field behind my house. I'm learning new stuff every day and know what "sit," "down," and "come" mean. I'm working on "stay" but I still have the attention span of a gnat when there are treats around.

I start my training tonight with a lady who trains show dogs and believes that puppies should be in mixed age groups for first training. I'm not going to be a show dog, but she's going to train my mom on all the important stuff I need after the basics. I'm gonna be a great dog!

I'm home!

Mom and Dad had no trouble finding me! I'm home now and herding the occicats, Mingus and Oz and learning new stuff every day. I've trained Mom and Dad well and I've only made a couple of mistakes in the house. I come when I'm called, fetch and point at everything that moves.

I've talked my way into bed with Mom and Dad and the vet says that is just fine since I'm such a baby. I just have to figure out how to stay here when I'm a big dog:-)

My newest picture is the couch where I like to take naps with Mom, Mingus and Oz.
