Usually on Thursdays after work, mom has a few hours to herself and likes to play (uninterrupted) on the computer. The past THREE weeks, mom has gotten home from work, put on sweats and sneakers and has taken me to the park! You should see the look on my face when she starts to put her sneakers on. I give her the biggest Sunny Smile you can imagine and it makes her laugh and she says "yes, I'm taking you to the park". I just can't believe it! I can't believe she is choosing ME and the park over sitting her fat ass in the computer chair for hours on end.
So....yesterday we got to the park around 5:15
We immediately saw my labby pal Cricket and his mom. It was Cricket's birthday! She was ONE year old! Mom gave her a milk bone and said "Happy Birthday". Then she turned to her mom and said "have you ever heard of dogster?" Hehe. They started talking about dogster and mom said "the reason I thought about it is because Sunny has so many friends on dogster and when they have a birthday, I wish I could give them a real bone and kiss but all we can do is send a virtual bone and kiss. It sure is nice to have a live doggy to give a birthday bone and love". Cricket is such a sweetie. She is a leaner. she sits and leans against legs until she gets as much pets and love as she can. I'm not like that. Mom thinks it's adorable. I say whatevah.
Cricket and I walked a while and then we bumped into Maggie. She is Zaidie!! She is the cutest Westie in the world (other than Zaidie!) The inside of her ears are pink and it makes my mom go crazy! I started to play a little rough with Maggie and she liked it! She stood up to me and we chased eachother around in the leaves. I liked to bop her butt with my nose. Mom was a little nervous but Maggie's mom kept saying "they're fine. She can hold her own". Later, I went down to the creek and when I was running back to mom, Maggie charged me and her mom said "see...she started it" and we got to play some more. I love that dog!
Then, we found Eva, Chloe, Bogie and Russell. We all walked together. I had sooooooo much fun! We stayed until the lights came on the path; it was that late.
We got home and mom plopped down in the computer chair. Oh well...progress not perfection, right? :)
Leave A Comment | 7 people already have BOL!!! Make sure you keep giving mom those smiles Sunny!!! You have best labbie smile we have ever seen! Cricket sounds perfectly nice. Cricket also sound like a bit of an ass-kisser!!! Leaning and all that crap just so your mom will say "How cute" and give her the goods!!! BOL, Louie! My sisfur Izzy is a total brown-nosin leaner!!!! Gimme a break! She pulls that nosing the hand thing too, which I must admit I resort too, when it comes to my Papa's hinder scratchin, can't get enuff of that, so I do Izzy's nose to hand routine for more scratches.
Sunny, you can try what I do if Mama sits down in the puter chair after work, BEFORE giving me my attention. I sit right down beside the chair and stare at her (and she can feel my eyes boring into her) and if she ignore me, I give her the piercing bark, which CANNOT be ignored. Sunny, I feel like I'm reading the "You know you're obsessed with Dogster" thread in SBU. Is there evfur an occasion when our Moms DON'T ask someone if they've evfur heard of Dogster.
ROFLMAO - (this new ackronim I learn...it's kinda dirty I guess! bol) That's awesome Sunny sounds like you've been having a lot of fun! I brought mom over to read this diary entry and she was laughing so hard over " I can't believe she is choosing me and the park instead of sitting her fat ass in the computer chair for hours on end!" you are so funny Sunny! Of course you are... better than the computer. Must be something in the air. Mom now only goes on the computer after everyones in bed. If you mom keeps it up she might just loose her _ _ _ _ _ _ . Tha nks for making me and mom LOL! Cricket has all the dog-parents at the park well trained. She'll sit quietly and give big puppy-eyes for an ear rub and a cookie. Graet entry, Sunny! Hope to see you Thursday afternoon!
