Liked to play, and hugs! She loved it when we gave her hugs!

Pet-Peeves:
Other dogs in HER house!! Cats, too for that matter. But she would tolerate them, as long as THEY didn't get too close. SHE was allowed, but not them!

Favorite Toy:
rocks (yes, try as we might, we could not get her to not play with rocks!!!) balls, sticks...anything that could've been thrown.

Favorite Food:
dry food with a little gravy!!

Favorite Walk:
Walk? Why walk when you can run???

Best Tricks:
She was a high jumper...we used to keep her Kong on top of the fridge, and she would sit in front of the fridge staring at the top. Then she would jump up to see if the toy was there, and continue jumping!! She jumped high and she saw on top of the fridge

Arrival Story:
I was working in a pet shop at the time, and the Disney movie 101 Dalmatians cameout. Of course, everyone wants to have a dalmatian. The store had received 2 dalmatians; one got sold very quickly...but not Duchess! And she was the cutest puppy! She had the biggest ears I had ever seen on such a little puppy! After a while it came to my attention that when I went into the Dog room, and all the other puppies were barking, she would still be sleeping! She would only react when I touched her! We had her tested, and yep! she was deaf! What to do? The big boss decided to either find her a good home or have her put down! I was appalled at the second choice! I thought that she deserved a chance too! After a couple of weeks looking for a good home, I cam to the conclusion that there was only one thing to do...take her home! Do I regret it? No. She wasn't an easy dog to train, God love my husband for his patience teaching her hand signals, but she was a fabulous dog! Duchess was a one family dog! Very protective, and I could not ask for a better watchdog!

MySpace Layouts She was a character, Duchess was! We still miss her terribly. She instilled some of her traits (thankfully, her better ones!) into our youngest dog, Thunder. Some of the things he does reminds us of her. She used to LOVE rocks. She had every single toy available on the market (I was working for a pet supply company, and used to try the toys out at home) and yet, loved rocks. We'd throw, she'd go and find it. It had to be that rock! She had a great sniffer, it seemed! She's find it , drop it by our feet, and wait. We'd sometimes wait with her to see her reaction. She's grunt after a few minutes, and push the rock closer to our feet. W'd wait again, and she'd move it closer. When we would reach down to get the rock to throw again, she'd get ready. ready, set, throw! Off she would go. She was a great protector, and very intimidating. She was the smallest of the four dogs, yet the most feared. She never bit anyone, though. She's just snarled at them. We used to tell people to make friends with her was to throw a ball, stick, or better yet, a rock. She made friends that way.
